This is real. There's a woman in our neighborhood that has taught her dog to walk on its hind legs. She tells it to "stand up" in Chinese and the dog gets on its back legs and can walk for several minutes like that. It looks like she's holding the dog up by its chain, but she's not - the dog can actually walk. Today they walked past our house, both on two legs, and the woman was holding one of the dog's paws like you would hold a little kid's hand.

Here it is wearing its rain coat.

Why would you want to teach a dog to do that :disagreement:

    Idiots...

I could not even begin to understand it. All I want to teach my dogs is not to poop in the house.

I would think that that would take a huge toll on the dogs spine long term.

I'd me more concerned with the dog's hips, knees, and ankles...can't be good for them, they aren't made to put up with all that wear and tear and pressure.

The dog's spine, if it walks like that all day and everyday, would eventually adapt to more fully support the dog. The same is true with humans if a baby is not taught to walk on two feet and instead walks on all fours.

Next time I see that dog I'll give it a full physical.

In the pot with it if it doesn't pass with flying colors! JK...

And no, that's not an unfair stereotype. There are many places here to dine on fido if you wish and I've seen it several times.

Hey, not me!! I'm a vegetarian (sorta - I eat fish and poultry)! Anyway, my two dogs would never forgive me for eating pooch, nor would my wife or kids. But I've seen it happen, and it's easy to get if you're so inclined.
