Week 8 Television Coverage for the NFL and the Patriots
By: John Morgan

No Dan Dierdorf this week, as CBS will send Jim Nantz and Phil Simms to announce the game between the Patriots and Dolphins....

Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

Get your popcorn.

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

No thanks, I'm still nauseous from Sunday.

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

There's all sorts of adult entertainment on the internet and you want me to watch the refs help the Jets beat the Patriots?

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

I'll just rewatch the Saints game, thanks for trying.

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

The replays are worth re-watching since there is so much less emotional attachment, which leads to more objective analysis than a fan will have during the game while it is being played live.

The game I'm really interested in watching though is Chicago at Washington. Five times the score was tied, five lead changes, 858 yards of offense, 31 4th-quarter points, and a game winning score in the final minute. It's on 9:00 Wednesday and again at midnight.

Also, the Colts-Broncos replay is on right after the Pats-Jets today at 3:30.

PBR it
then I can play it backwards so it has a happy ending

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

No thanks. One go around for that game is enough for me...

Or, just watch the first half and pretend that was the end of it. ;)

A couple of years ago someone had a thread here saying "Hey, NFLN is re-showing Super Bowl 46 today." There was a great post in response; can't remember all the words but two stood out: "staple gun" and "scrotum." Somehow that comes to mind here.

Re: Pats-Jets...NFL Network 2:00PM ...today

I'm watching because there is no way Tom Brady can be that bad in the replay

first time this year for Nantz-Simms, my favourite crew

I didn't realize that until now, you are correct. Hard to believe that it took this long for the Pats to get a game with Nantz and Simms as the announcers, since they usually call as many Pats games as all the other broadcast crews combined.

at Bills: Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf, Tracy Wolfson (CBS)
vs Jets: Brad Nessler, Mike Mayock, Alex Flanagan (NFLN)
vs Bucs: Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Erin Andrews (FOX)
at Falcons: Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Michele Tafoya (NBC)
at Bengals: Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf (CBS)
vs Saints: Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman, Pam Oliver (FOX)
at Jets: Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf (CBS)
vs Dolphins: Jim Nantz, Phil Simms (CBS)

And the only reason we got them is because washington is in denver. if it was an afc team, they wouldve been sent there.

last season, if i remember correctly, Nantz and Simms (during the regular season) were the announcers for 6 times

All the networks definitely love Manning and the Broncos this year. You're right - if CBS has a chance they're sending their top crew to the Denver game. Whichever network has the Broncos makes it their premier game every week this year.

Week 1: nationwide game vs Ravens on Thursday night on NBC
Week 2: late game vs NYG shown almost everywhere on CBS
Week 3: nationwide game vs Raiders on MNF
Week 4: late game vs Philly shown almost everywhere on FOX
Week 5: late game vs Dallas shown nationwide on CBS
Week 6: late game vs Jags shown almost everywhere on CBS
Week 7: nationwide game vs Colts on Sunday night on NBC
Week 8: late game vs Redskins on almost everywhere on FOX
