Week 8 NFL Games - previews and predictions
By: John Morgan

Other than the Fins-Pats game, the most compelling matchups appear to be Dallas at Detroit and the Jets at Cincinnati. None of the national games look as if they will be competitive; even though they are on the road Green Bay and Seattle should face littl...

1st quarter scores of other early games:

Detroit 7, Dallas 0
Lions 123 yards to 48 for Dallas, but Detroit (surprise) already has three penalties, one which gave the Cowboys a first down. Stafford already with 108 yards passing, and a 2-yard TD to Calvin Johnson.

Kansas City 6, Cleveland 0
Total Plays: KC 23, Browns 6.
Total Yards: KC 125, Browns 11.

Giants 6, Eagles 0
Vick with a pick, leading to time of possession in favor of Giants 10:31 to 4:29.

Saints 7, Bills 0
Buffalo has lost two fumbles already; Brees 5/6 and a TD pass.

49ers 14, Jaguars 0
Gore and Kaepernick with touchdown runs.

Whatever happened to TheGodInAGrayHoodie, who used to do the weekly "Who To Root For" threads?

1. Miami Dolphins (3-3) at New England Patriots (5-2)
Obvious

2. New York Jets (4-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)
Jets to lose

4. Washington Redskins (2-4) at Denver Broncos (6-1)
Broncos to lose

4. Buffalo Bills (3-4) at New Orleans Saints (5-1)
Bills to lose

5. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) at Oakland Raiders (2-4)
I have to admit to a certain amount of schadenfreude in seeing Pittsburgh lose

6. Cleveland Browns (3-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-0)
Chiefs to lose for playoff seeding, or have KC take a 2-game lead over Denver? Tough call.

7. New York Giants (1-6) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-4)
I have to root against any team from New York

8. Dallas Cowboys (4-3) at Detroit Lions (4-3)
The Lions are so unlikable, got to root for Dallas to win

9. San Francisco 49ers (5-2) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (0-7)
It would be amusing to see the Jaguars win, though that isn't going to happen

10. Atlanta Falcons (2-4) at Arizona Cardinals (3-4)
Root for Arizona to lose, to fuel 'trade Larry Fitzgerald to Pats' speculation?

11. Seattle Seahawks (6-1) at St. Louis Rams (3-4)
Root against Sherman and Pete Caroll

12. Green Bay Packers (4-2) at Minnesota Vikings (1-5)
I guess root for the Packers to win

Wow, Dez. Nice.

Cromartie blatant pass interference (which he complained was a bad call because he is allowed to grab the back of the jersey of the receiver who burnt him badly down the field) sets up a 9 yard TD pass. Cincy up 7-0.

Is this an overreaction or....

Can one argue that Calvin is the GOAT? (Moss/Rice/Megatron?)

Pryor 93 run for TD...

I think my friend who is a Cowboys fan just passed out...

I wonder how many teams calvin Johnson is going to beat in total yards

I would like to see Cinci, Atl, Oak, Wash, GB, and Sea win.

Calvin Johnson just mic dropped Dez Bryant.

My god, Calvin had over 300 yards!!!! Its great for my fantasy team, :rocker:the man amazes me. I wish we had a WR like that.

yeah i will take McCourty over bryant. embarrassing show on the sidelines.

and the jets are behind 7-0 with Cincy driving...:)

Bengals up 14-0 in the Jets' Super Bowl followup.
