I don't get it, trade a pick for a player and then release him?

Wrong Burgess. P. Burgess came from the Ravens for a 7th round pick.
Derrick Burgess came from Uncle Al's Funny Football Farm for the 3rd.

OK..... I don't get it. I think the wisest course of action is to just quit analyzing these moves cuz it can't be done.

Yeah, that's what the Bro said....they traded a pick for him....pass the bong.

I assume this means the data download has taken place from P Burgess and/or Wilfork is going to be out for an extended period.

A conditional pick probably based on whether he remained with the

    team for a specified time.

It was a conditional pick. Probably only went into effect if he spent X amount of time on the roster....which was I would assume more than the week he spent here.

I think he was traded for a "conditional" 7th. My guess is that the fact he didn't latch on was one of the conditionals of the trade. Slow on the posters above

Maybe he has already told them all he could about the Ravens and/or he wasn't willing to say anything and Bill gave him the boot:rolleyes:

Possible that Burgess was just in to pick his brain about the Ravens and Rex Ryan?

Bringing in a Big Fat guy that was just released from another team RIGHT after your NT gets hurt is worrisome......
I'm certainly hoping that Wilfork isn't going to be out for an extended period.

    wiki say's he's 6,7 335lbs

BB says he's 360lbs that maybe why he did not make a team this year

in 7 seasons with the packers chiefs and raiders he has 129 tackels 4 sacks and 9 Pass deflections

i guess we can use all the help we can get

Although I can't support this but I do think BB likes to have a tall guy on the line to at least make the attempt to block FGs as Seymour was outstanding at it.

Seriously, what is the mortality rate for dudes that big. Most old people in my village are quite skinny. Can this Mammoth really live beyond 52 ?

Ah well, as long as he can occupy space.

All this tells me is that Wilfork might be out for longer than we originally feared. Our run defense should be even more stout though, based on the looks of this guy.

They looked at Sands last week, I don't think this is a case of 2+2.

Well whatever the case, I'm liking it... especially in Wilfork's absense.
