Damn, I did not know about Seymour as a rookie having to fork over 15K for taking the veterans out for one nite. That is brutal. (I'm referring to the link referenced in this article, to Christopher's article on the symposium)

They combine the scores of a teams rookies to come up with the team winner.

Pats sent 12 rooks, so I am not impressed.:snob:

I'm pretty sure it isn't simply the sum, seeing as the Pats won it last year with just 7 rookies. . . .

    From Reiss's article.

    ,

Good for the Pat rookies, I am just saying they had to be the odds on favorites.

I doubt it means sum, though. I'm sure it's the average or mean score. Otherwise, what's the point? The NFL can't suck at math that bad, one hopes.

Agreed. "Combined individual scores" doesn't specify how they were combined (sum and average).

Combined is not the same as summed. Summing is only one way of combining scores of individuals. Another way is to combine scores is by taking their average, which I'm sure what was done here without knowing more information.

32 inch HDTVs to 12 players. I wonder if the 7 players last year got 55 inch TVs?

Kevin O'C also won an IPod for his personal performance on the Ultimate Rookie exam.
Interesting info about the symposium itself too, and how seriously the NFL takes the attendance, though I kind of agree with Troy Smith about Goodell even though it probably wasn't the wisest thing to say:D :
Great article Chris, thanks, and good for our boys:rocker:

The second article about the NFL.com study's pretty interesting too, maybe a thread of it's own

And here I was thinking that a thread on sums vs. means couldn't get any better. :eat1:

Not trying to offend you but am I the only one who finds it weird that a Jets fan reads Reiss's blog?
