Hey everyone ... New Patriots wide receiver Joey Galloway just wrapped up a conference call with New England media. We’ll have the full Q&A a little bit later on this afternoon, but here are a few quick highlights to hold you over until then.

Thx Chris! I am thrilled to acquire Galloway! I'm a native New Englander living south of Tampa so I have seen a lot of Galloway with the Bucs. If he's back to 100% health we added a real quality weapon to the offense. Always nice to add a future HOF'er!

Despite the fact that some feel so strongly that the Patriots had no need of another WR who could go deep - or that having another deep WR would actually HURT the NE Offense - I think Belichick and Brady will REALLY give defenses fits with a guy on the opposite side of Moss who can beat DBs deep.

Once again, as with those who could statistically prove that the Patriots were perfectly fine with Reche Caldwell as their #1 WR, Belichick has put such questions to rest about whether an upgrade was possible or needed at WR, specifically picking someone who, if healthy, can still beat DBs deep.

Me mentioned that he's caught passes from about 23 QBs.I looked it up on pro football reference and came up with 20 plus.....
I counted 21 QBs…..and it is an interesting one at that…
    Rick Mirer
    John Friecz
    Gino toretta
    Stan Gelbaugh ????
    Warren Moon
    John Kitna
    Glenn Foley
    Randall Cunningham
    Quincy Carter
    Anthony Wright
    Ryan Leaf
    Clint Stoerner
    Chad Hutchinson
    Brian Griese
    Brad Johnson
    Chris Simms
    Bruce Gradkowski
    Tim Rattay
    Jeff Garcia
    Luke McCown

2913/83 average TD is 35 yds!!! (includes one rushing TD and 5 punt returns for TD)
2462/77 receiving TD 31.9 yds in length

(gotta find something to do when training a puppy at 2 am)

    And Ryan Leaf!!!!!

Other than Garcia or Moon, he's never really played with a true NFL QB, let
alone one of the best ever. I wonder if he sticks after TC ( which I think he will) if he'll wonder what his stats would have been if he had had Brady,Peyton or one of that level throwing him the ball all those years instead of guys who may have had more ints than TDs if you add it up.

Galloway definitely sounds like a Patriot guy. Hopefully he can remain healthy over the course of next season and be the type of guy we were searching for when we signed Stallworth. If so, he and Moss on the outside combined with Welker, Lewis, Watson, and Baker on the inside should make this a formidable offense.

As with the article, these are the two exerpts that made me smile most...

•He said he’s completely over the injuries he suffered last season that caused him to miss some time. In 2008, the usually durable receiver was limited to just 9 games and 13 catches in 2008 because of what multiple outlets called a foot injury. “It’s completely done. The foot is fine,” he said.

•He said he has no problem not being the featured receiver in the New England passing attack. “It does not matter to me — my goal again is to help the team win games,” he said.
