You know what, at 1st the sight of any Giant player or coach really disgusted me, I've avoided all forms of sports media or radio, but seriously. Tip your hat to this guy. I can't hate. What he did was outstanding. And to be honest, if we had a guy like him coaching our defense, maybe BB could've overseen everything and made some kind of different adjustment. I know we mixed in more screens and stuff than people realize, but you just have faith that there's something extra he could've done that he looked past while working with the defense.

So, I won't talk trash like the NY fans do, I'm finally coming to terms with us getting outplayed. No conspiracies, no excuses, no drama, it was a sloppy, ugly game where both offenses were held in check and they came out on top. For all that, still it came one helmet catch or dropped INT away. While next year can't be any worse, it can't peak any higher, 18-0 and in the SB, then losing. I don't know if anything will ever soften this blow but hopefully we hoist a few more Lombardi's before Brady and BB retire.

You think a 4-3 DC can get better pressure out of BB's 3-4 scheme and personnel...

I think we need a DC capable of doing his job, BB should just hold the title of DC and let McDaniels run the offense if he trusts him. We know BB is the smartest defensive mind on that team anyway.

The Giants have superior pass rushing DLs. That coupled with the fact that Brady was really, really inaccurate all day was what carried the day for the Giants.

I do not think that Warren, Wilfork, Green and Seymour could give the passrush that the Giants get from Umeniyora and Strahan.

Just to expand on this, I don't think we necessarily need a DC comparable to Spagnaulos philosophy, just one that can do his job and make adjustments on his own in crucial situations. That way it frees up BB to spot the overall effectiveness of both the offense and the defense, instead of hogging his energy.

im still waiting for someone to explain to me, why was b.b. working with the defense so much this year, compared to past years???? everytime they came off the field, b.b. was over talking to them, and not watching the offense. 18 games he didnt need to, but the last one he did. with that said, i dont know that dean is the problem.
i also dont understand why everyone thinks their gameplan, and d.c. should be in the h.o.f. the giants got in bradys face, stopped the run, played good in the secondary....thats everyones game plan against us. bottom line, they played better.

Most people this year have gameplanned to either sit back in coverage or overload blitz from outside the tackles.

Spagnuolo was, as far as I know, the only one to attack and beat the Pats perceived strength, which was the interior of the line. His big-name ends certainly gave our tackles a run for their money, but it was Justin Tuck and the safety blitzes up the middle that really dicked us over.

K, maybe you're fine with BB spending all of his time working with the defense in a SB where our offense clearly is struggling badly. I didnt mean we need SPAGNAULO himself, jesus christ, I meant someone capable of DOING HIS JOB HIMSELF WITHOUT ALL THAT EXTRA AID AND TYING UP THE COACHES ATTENTION.

Okay dude relax (and I will too.) I think, personally, we're wringing our hands a lot over one admittedly huge loss.

I also think the defensive side is what BB gravitates to, and probably where he can have the most positive effect. Since nobody every noticed where they thought BB was spending most of his time earlier in the season -- mainly because we always won -- I find it curious that Pees, now, "can't do his job," especially when the Giants scored all of 17 points. What was that TD to Plax, a monumental brain fart -- or a plain old bad decision, thinking they'd get to Manning before it mattered? BB's call, or Pees'?

See how much the "if only" part of being a fan bleeds into the "analysis" part of second guessing?

Some other guy on here was saying since we lost in the AFCCG last year, now boo hoo, the whole league is laughing at us, and we're now the Buffalo Bills of the new millenium.

Of course, since the Bills never DID win one, that's specious. But I think that's the thinking driving our discussions this week.

I don't think "Big Changes At The Top!" are what a team needs after an 18-1 season, despite losing the biggest game of the year. I think we shore up the weak spots and deal with the FA signing issues.

    Just being narrowminded, I suppose.

You are talking outta yer a s s...

    leave it alone.

Dean Peas is a good defensive mind.

You're just still pissed about the past.

Time to get blazed, or whatever you wish.

The oline got demolished, and they were on the offensive side of the ball.

    Just move on.

I'm pissed as well, but, we gotta move on to the future.

The future is ahead of us, not in the rearview...

Brady was inaccurate because the Giants were in his face all day...

Friend, you hit the nail on the head. The Pats don't have three good
cornerbacks. What teams do when their cornerbacks are below par
is rush the passer. The Pats' pass rush is not that good.
With regard to Brady, I think he was banged up. He was not able to
avoid the Giants' pass rush. His offensive line did him no favors by
coming up with a lousy performance.
