So we're at war with a religion? Good luck fighting that one.

    Some people never learn...

By the way, making things up doesn't make you any more credible.

    Sadly....War is our #1 export.

Also, our embassies have been under attack since forever. Asking WHY ARE WE ONLY HEARING ABOUT THIS FROM CONSERVATIVE MEDIA is silly.

Its like being the former Secretary of Defense and tweeting that the embassy attacks are a reflection of out failed foreign policy...

During Rummsfeld's years in the Bush admin, there were over a dozen attacks on US embassies. Terrorist attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ONLY reason you are enraged NOW, is because your news source is SINGULAR.

It must be getting worse, Andrea Mitchell is talking about it and President Jug Ears is going on TV today to talk about it, Hillary is calling up Billy and asking him what she should do.

I think communicaton has gotten so extensive that what's really happening is that some cultures are finally understanding how much better we have it than they do and they're pissed.

What we SHOULD do is tell them all...

    "Too bad!"

I know wistah...but it is "too bad", isn't it?

You can't have citizens of other nations rioting because life in America is better, safer and easier. They need to create their own prosperity and safe society instead of blaming others.

Otherwise, you & I can riot because some here have it easier than we do...right?

Aren't they to blame for the dangers that exist within their own borders?

LOL....and with the current administration a failed foreign policy has come home to roost:

    2009:

June 1, Little Rock, Arkansas: Abdulhakim Muhammed, a Muslim convert from Memphis, Tennessee, is charged with shooting two soldiers outside a military recruiting center. One is killed and the other is wounded.
Dec. 25: A Nigerian man on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit attempted to ignite an explosive device hidden in his underwear.

    2010:
April 5:An attack near the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar, Pakistan, kills two consulate security guards and at least six others.
May 1, New York City: a car bomb is discovered in Times Square, New York City after smoke is seen coming from a vehicle. The bomb was ignited, but failed to detonate and was disarmed before it could cause any harm. Times Square was evacuated as a safety precaution. Faisal Shahzad pleads guilty to placing the bomb as well as 10 terrorism and weapons charges.
May 10, Jacksonville, Florida: a pipe bomb explodes while approximately 60 Muslims are praying in the mosque. The attack causes no injuries.
Oct. 29: two packages are found on separate cargo planes. Each package contains a bomb consisting of 300 to 400 grams (11-14 oz) of plastic explosives and a detonating mechanism. The bombs are discovered as a result of intelligence received from Saudi Arabia's security chief. The packages, bound from Yemen to the United States, are discovered at en route stop-overs, one in England and one in Dubai in the United Arab

quite usually at their expense... we became a net importer a very long time ago...

We already do, thanks to chickenhawks and others who love the idea of sending poor kids to fight for their jingoist impulses.

THERE'S the reason they hate us. The attitude.

    It goes horse, then cart...

If there's one thing we've learned from the past 96 hours, it's that any asshat, nutjob, right wingnut can achieve the crusade he so desperately desires just by goading foreigners with a simple and retarded YouTube video. I'm not sure what side looks stupider, our or theirs.

Yet another reason that organized religion is the root of so much evil.

You seem to expect them to play by our rules -- not sure why, if that's the case.

Seems to me whether they riot or not is up to the folks in that country, not us.

    whaaaaaaaaaat?

You might wanna take it up with Rummy. He's the fool who tweeted that.

Rummsfeld's domestic terrorism watch didn't do so well, Are you comparing 9-11 to a pipe bomb, or a single shooter, or a failed terror attempt?

Are you pointing to the SUCCESSFUL thwarting of a terror plot, in failed foreigh policy coming home to roost?

    Yes, yes you are....

My next question might sound condescending, but I'm being real...

Do you read what you post?

Pull out, leave 'em all to it. They can blow each other to hell for all I care.

Clinton asking 'why' this is happening makes me laugh though. I mean, stop playing dumb. These people HATE the west. They're happy when we're helping them gain their freedom but will back stab us when it comes down to it at the end. It sounds harsh but giving these people freedom to vote whoever they want in was suicidal...when extremist parties get in (whom we can't control like their dictators before them) we will be living To regret it.

Nostradamus once said the last big war will start in the Middle East and boy does it look like he's right.

    #75 Jersey

Why don't we keep repeating Barack Hussein Obama's position, that all of these attacks are caused by a video, and that it's just a coincidence that all the violence commenced on 9/11.

We can only imagine what some of the loony lefties would be saying if it were a republican President's foreign policies that got us into this mess.

Every day I wake up I thank God that we have so many brave young men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line to protect this country, even when we have such a pathetic excuse for a "leader".

Btw, I remember all of the lefties crowing about how the rest of the world loves us now that we have an Apologist-In-Chief sitting in the Oral Office. That's another liberal theory that blew up in our faces eh?

So far, the loony lefties have blamed everyone BUT Barack Hussein Obama. It's kind of interesting the way they can simply ignore the facts that stare them in the face.

Obviously, you do not understand what the facts are..

The apology stuff is tiring and a flat out lie.. remember this has nothing to do with a ex con coptic christian, posing as a jew, who makes a movie trailer that demeans muslims and their faith. Which leads to violence, and probably more towards the coptic christians of Egypt.. do not understand the christian stuff in that context.:confused::confused:

If Sept. 11th was the catalyst, why did stuff happen in other countries after 9-11?? Why didn't the violence just all step off on 9-11, were some of the extremists not paying attention to their calendar???.. Why are there demonstations over this in Australia??

No, what I pointed out is that a culture is the epitome of hypocracy if they riot & murder because they're pissed that Americans have it so much easier/safer/wealthier than they do.

Also, why riot over something like that? If they want what we have, then it's all un to them to achieve that. You don't kill those you envy.

And btw...all countries must abide a common set of rules or face the consequences....no?

It's all in "tone of voice" PV....so that's "too bad" as in "tough sh1t!".

Whatta they think somone's gonna just give them what others have....tough sh1t they don't have what other countries have...cry me a river

So it has nothing to do with the way we behave.. supporting some very bad regimes(Shah, Mubarak et al), pillaging their natural resources, invading their countries and now the drone attacks...

They are not so much envious of what we have, as much as they are angry as to what we have done and how we behave on these soils..

Do you think that killing 150K women and children(collateral damage) in Iraq, may have spurred some anger???

This is knee jerk stuff. Think for a minute.

You had a relatively small protest crowd in Libya, and at some point, some seriously armed types took advantage of it and started blasting away with RPGs. That's not something you just bring along with your "Down with the west" sign. I think these guys siezed an opportunity. They all arrived together and used the protest as cover.

Now let's talk about the protests - they're small crowds of ultra-p.o.d Islamists... but there were also crowds of Libyans carrying signs, in English, saying things like "This is not who we are" and "America is a friend to Libya" or "Obama is a friend to Libya" or whatever.

This whole "get the hell out they're just nuts they write backwards over there" jag is fine and dandy if you believe the Middle East is a strategically unimportant region of the world.

We have to engage somehow. We've tried the neo-con prescription of treating it as a giant chess-board, where the people in the region have no real motivations other than to throw flowers at our invading troops and that sort of thing. Didn't work.

Think about what approach you lot have taken, and still do... diplomacy first and foremost, military force to back up your imperialist aims. Say what you want, that's doing pure force one better. We in the U.S., supposedly, want to even one-up that... i.e., aligning our interests in such a way to get the goodies but not insist on keeping our boot on anybody's throat.

Obviously there are times when things will go wrong - you have to accept that democracies elect who they want to, for example, which is inconvenient. You have to accept that their idea of "freedom of assembly" always seems to yield burning of our flags, especially when our idea of "freedom of speech" ends up with mean internet movies about their prophet.

The host countries are responsible for protecting our embassies and consulates -- that's the way it works.

THe Libyans know that, and that's why the Libyan government has bent over backwards to apologize to the U.S. (the only apology in this story.)

For all parties this is a very "don't speak too soon for the wheel's still in spin" moment. Western media is all about "Oh noez crazy middle eastern guys and stuff on fire!!! That's the WHOLE COUNTRY!!! OMG!!!!"

I am wondering whether, as in Libya's case, we'll start seeing the Islamists have to defend their outrages among others in their own countries.

I'm not sure it's hypocrisy -- why would it be?

Misguided, otoh, as you point out? Probably. But people often act irrationally. That's usually the case in riots, including in the US.

Rules and consequences? Whose rules? Whose consequences? I'm sure there are a lot of people, particularly in the middle east, who think we haven't followed "the rules" with our foreign policies and that things like these attacks were the consequences.

Churchill saw the problem with Islam a long time ago, he seems to have been as insightful here as he was with the Nazi threat in the 1930's.

As in the 1930's the appeasers are just as blind to the threat.

Churchill also blamed the Jews for their own persecution in a 1937 article he wrote entitled, "How the Jews Can Combat Prosecution," too.

He outlined a new wave of anti-Semitism sweeping across Europe and the United States, which was followed by the deaths of millions of Jews in the Holocaust under the German Nazi regime.
