Walter Football 4-round mock

I can live with maybin given who is left.........I also like harris as he seems to be a good fit for a zone........if the pats are to go with RB the next pick, my choice of who is available would be donald brown although moore does alot of different things....I would skip nic harris in round 3 and go with OC eric wood with the idea that the pats can grab a better safety prospect in courtney greene with the samuel compensatory pick......as for round 4, I just could not pass up on jasper brinkley at that point....so given our current picks:
1- maybin
2a- harris (although if sintim is there at 40 or 41, I am on the phone making a deal.......adding both maybin and sintim fixes LB things quite nicely...still would take brinkley in round 4)
2b - brown/moore
3a - wood
3b - greene
4 - brinkley

I could pass on Brinkley.. His stock has plummetted since last year. He's sitting as a 6-7 pick right now. Much in the same way that Will Moore's stock has gone from a 1st round pick to a 2-3 round pick.

I would be shocked and extremely upset if we took Victor Harris at 47 when Alphonso Smith was still on the board, though I don't believe that will ever happen. Getting Smith at 47 would be a terrific coup; passing him up at that point would be ludicrous.

I would vote for the following:

1 Maybin, DE/OLB
2a Alphonso Smith CB, though it's ludicrous to have him falling this far.
2b Would probably make sure with got LB Clay Matthews if we was still available close to our pick (they have him going #55) and Barwin/Sintim are both gone, IF we think he can move inside to SILB
3a Like the Eric Wood pick a lot
3b Coye Francies, CB, though again it's ludicrous to have him falling this far.
4 Sammie Lee Hill, DT, Spillman

Good grief! It's clear the folks involved in this mock pay little attention to NE as a team.

Maybin? Why? Because he had a few sacks as a sophomore? This kid is raw and he's coming out too early, a bad combination that does not speak to first round value as I've studied BB-draftology.

Macho Harris? While Patrick Chung and Rashad Johnson are still on the board? These morons don't even know the basics of NE's roster situation.

Devin Moore? Did they even bother to watch how ineffective he was in Texas vs. The Nation? 4.3 speed for a Return Specialist might make some sense in the second, but for a 191 lb. RB?

Nic Harris makes some sense, if you assume he could be 70% as good as Rodney.

Shawn Nelson to replace Ben Watson? Great, NE has a freak of nature who hasn't been more than mediocre despite awsome talent, and he's going to be replaced by an undersized receiving TE in an offense that relies on TE blocking.

Truly as ignorant a draft by a draft website as I've read this year. If you assume they are drafting for perceived need, they are saying the Patriots need OLB, CB, RB, SS, and TE without any thought to how NE uses the players who fill those roles.

no va tech thugs pls at corner. Maybin is over-rated. Don't mind the Nelson pick or Nic Harris. Both good fits.

Very nicely put. BB has his own style and perferences and until people start to realize this when putting together mocks, they will always be confused by the Pats.

The year we drafted Brock Willaims in the third round, I was shocked. But looking back, you see that Williams was quick twitch, had decent ball skills in college, tackled some and played some ST. Now it makes a little sense.
