    About earmarks....

At a rally today, Sen. McCain again asserted that Sen. Obama has requested nearly a billion in earmarks. In fact, the Illinois senator requested $311 million last year, according to the Associated Press, and none this year. In comparison, Gov. Palin has requested $750 million in her two years as governor -- which the AP says is the largest per-capita request in the nation.

About the infamous Bridge to Nowhere...

Gov. Palin's claim comes with a serious caveat. She endorsed the multimillion dollar project during her gubernatorial race in 2006. And while she did take part in stopping the project after it became a national scandal, she did not return the federal money. She just allocated it elsewhere.

    Truth is over-rated, S93.

Why can't you just go find a photo of neatly wrapped up flags in what is obviously a meeting room, and announce how the Godless Dems are expressing their hatred of the American flag by trashing it?

Swift-boat vets for the truth, they called them.
As truthful as a pimp in Tijuana.
Not one rightie here, including all the self-calimed righteous ones, attempting to monopolize the love for the flag, stood up and said a word.

    Slime works,

    Truth?

    Oh, not so much...

But, but, but.... Barack Obama's middle name is Hussein! OMG! OH NOES!

McCain's campaign manager said it the other day: "This campaign won't be about the issues". They are desperate to cling on to power. They will lose though. We have the better candidate and the better ideas.

The silence from the right wingers is deafening. They are more concerned with pigs and lipstick than the issues or their darling candidate's integrity.

She's not even our "candidate" she's his helper. You guys still haven't figured that out. As to the subject, I haven't done a whole lot of research so I can't comment; I will say, though, that you can be against earmarks but still try to get them for your state if that's how the system works. With the earmark system you get what you can - but if you have a chance to change the crappy system, you do.

That's like the logic of a drug addict who wants to go cold turkey but just can't bring himself to stop on his own.

McCain practices what he preaches on this subject. Queen Palin doesn't.

Obama was up the week after the DNC. McCain is up the week after the RNC. Nothing really surprising there.

Got anything to say about the topic?

Obama was up when the DNC had happened but not the RNC.
    McCain is up after BOTH.

    Slight difference there.

Like I said, I don't even know if the numbers are correct. But there is nothing wrong with doing your best for your constituents under a system you don't like.

Obama was up 50%-42% the Tuesday after the DNC, on the night Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman spoke. McCain is up 49%-44% the Tuesday after the the RNC, so actually Obama got a bigger bounce than McCain did.

The bounce doesn't matter, the ending point after both conventions is what matters. Add in that Obama is not good in debates and . . . :D

Palin supported it when she ran for governor and when it was cancelled she complained that America "doesn't understand Alaska's needs".

After she flip-flopped, instead of giving the money back to the feds, she spent it on other pork-barrel projects which aren't in the national spotlight.

After she realized the cost, she changed her mind and noted that it wasn't worth the cost involved. Call it flip-flopping if you want, whatever. She did the right thing here. Oh yea, Obama and Biden voted for it. Nice try at distortion, though.
