I think Vincent is a WR that does not come around too often in FA

I doubt the Chargers keep him and he will be one of the top prized offensive players come FA .... Maybe as close to a Randy Moss as we will see again under Brady's regime.

I thought he was an incredible receiver BEFORE he went up against the Pats last season but the way he took over the Chargers offense and almost won that game for them by himself against the Pats makes me think this is a guy we should not pass up if we can afford him.

If he worth the risk considering he could be trouble off the field again?

    Pros:
    -Huge target
-attacks the ball at its highest point
    -good but not great speed

    Cons:
    -risk of suspension
    -cost
-don't know all the routes he ran at SD and how they relate to what we do.

one season suspension is a big big big big big big risk.

If it were factored into the contract then maybe.

He's a hell of a player but I don't think it makes too much sense unless he'd be willing to take a discount to play here, which I highly doubt is the case.

He's going to get paid a TON and if the Pats are willing to spend that much on a player this off-season, I'd say it makes more sense to just go a little bit further for Mario Williams instead.

I hear the Bills may be BIG buyers in the FA market this year having both huge interests in both Mario Williams and Vincent Jackson.

I don't think its possible for them to sign both players, but if they do that will be scary.

Not sure he's worth the risk.....

    Locker room distraction?

    Suspension liability....

    Cost.....

Money could probably be spent better with close to similar results...

    No thank you

Besides all the off field problems, he will be paid like a stud WR, and IMO he isn't one.

Brandon Lloyd will be cheaper and I trust him to get the offense.

No, the 1 year suspension thing is enough to keep away from him, especially with the likes of Brandon Lloyd, Marques Colston and Reggie Wayne available.

In my opinion more downside than upside for reasons already stated. He will want too much money first and foremost.

I think we can all agree that behind the secondary, wide receiver is a big need for this team. I cant imagine how much more open our offense would be if we always werent looking for the dink and dunk passes/10yard out.

however, I say no..partially because of the suspension, but also because I dont think we necessarily need a guy who will command the salary that he is getting.

with a free agency loaded with Wide receivers, someone like Brandon Lloyd would be a cheaper option and give us the production we need from that spot...

    No way.

You always hear that one of the biggest things the Patriots look for in players is a guy who considers football a big priority in his life.

Jackson got a DUI the week of a playoff game. He also managed to get detained by police and his car impounded the day of another playoff game. Phillip Rivers had to actually swing by the scene and pick Jackson up to bring him to the game.

Does that sound like a guy who has football at the top of his priority list?

He's never caught more than 68 passes in a season. Jackson's a very good deep threat but not a consistent receiver I think he'll demand too much money for a guy that only knows how to run one route.

I don't care about the risk, but the guy wants top dollar.

After that ridiculous thing Larry Fitz signed this season, no way. I want a system guy, who will come in and go to work and catch the ball. We don't need a megatron. Just a decently quick, tall WR.

    No, no, no, and no.

Vincent Jackson wants Brandon Marshall money without the Brandon Marshall production. Jackson was actually a bit disappointing this year, I saw him make a bunch of drops in prime time games.

Give me Brandon Lloyd who will come at a fraction of the cost and has the benefit of having worked with Josh McDaniels in each of the past three seasons.

With a pretty decent crop of FA-WR I don't think Jackson is worth the risk or the dough.

I would pass on the Jackson's and make a serious run at Lloyd. Lloyd knows how to play for McDaniels and in the system and he won't cost as much. Then I would look at Colston as the next option
