I think all the BLUE states from secede from the Union and form their own country

Blue states are sick and tired of subsidizing the corrupt and bankrupt right-wing RED states.

Blue states are sick and tired of sending our children to die for RED state's lies and deceptions.

New Yorkers are sick and tired of having their 9/11 tragedy used by Red states policiticans to propagate their lies and deceptions.

Take away the Blue states and what is left behind is a underdeveloped third world country.

Blue states should follow Vermont and secede from the union.

Question Mikey, if the blue states are so wonderful and the red states so horrid, why is the population of the red states increasing relative to the blue atates? Aren't people 'voting with their feet' for the red states?

Most of the migration out of blue states are senior and retirees who go to very few selected red states for the weather and other reasons.

In contrast, most of the younger people migrated to the Blue states like New York and California for jobs, culture, and opportunities.

There are actually very few red states that are attracting people like Florida, Georgia and Carolina. I believe a majority of the RED states are also losing populations, like Indiana, Alabama, Missisippi, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska ... Even Ohio is losing its population.

As I have said, take away the BLUE STATES and what is left behind is an underdeveloped third world country.

You seem to have forgotten NC, SC, ALA, TX, UT CO that have high frowth rates. The red states have better economic 'climates' much manu facturing have moved from the rust belt to the south for just this reason.

I know for a fact that upstate NY is losing a lot of their young people and is aging quite rapidly.

If you want to see the beginning of third world countries in America go to San Francisco & Cambridge Mass. (These two places are crawling with Liberal, Socialist, Left Wing Whacko's) they can never be allowed to try and protect America.

I'll be dead before they secede.

Rural Poor Liberals, your right, they believe all the crap the Dingobats feed them before an election, but it never happens.
The old Maine is dying, they all know that, the New Maine is slowly emerging, crime, drugs, prostitution, murders, pedophiles, rapes and all the other Hollywood generation sh!t and all the "poor liberals' do is sit on their porch spitting and whittling and saying "ayhu god-damn Bush" while they are waiting for their welfare checks.

The poor in Maine are Liberal because it is the Liberal that hands out all the free sh!t.
While the "poor liberal" sits on his front porch spitting and whittling and eating Lobsters he bought with his left over food stamps up north the farmers have to hire "Illegal Aliens" to pick their blueberries and potatos.

I live on an Island with 90% "Rich Liberals", they are the "REAL A$S HOLES", if you tried to bring a Somalian home to dinner these phony bastards would burn you alive, (not in my backyard you don't) most liberals are phony, we all know that.

Wasn't there a civil war or something about whether states could secede? I think the answer turned out to be no.

Great. You can go live with the meth-heads in IA, KS, TX, NE or Utah. Maine has always stood by the Union, and so has Vermont.

I'll take the potheads over the meth, herion or crack-heads any day.

There not motivated enough to commit violent crime.

I think drunks cause 10X as many problems as Attention Deficite Disorder potheads do. A stoned guy is to lazy to go anywhere, whereas a drunk guy is too oblivious to his own condition to be honest to himself.

    I can make it (hic!).

FYI, most of the immigrants coming to these states are Mexicans, not elderly northerners.

I agree, I am a far left whack job liberal when it comes to drugs, the war on drugs is a big joke, America wants its drugs and America will get its drugs no matter how many laws they create to fight "the war".

Your also right about the drunks, the guy that comes home and terrorizes his family and kicks his dog is usally always "The Drunk" the people that kill each other with their Cars at 3:00 AM are usually always "The Drunks".

Most Crime on the city streets is related to drugs, the crimes aren't committed because the "User" has gone nuts, the crime is committed due to the "ILLEGAL DEAL", Criminal Scum Bags sell drugs and Criminal Scum Bags are the people who cause crime.
Legalize Drugs and you will put these "Baggy Pant F-cking Creeps" out of business tomorrow, Legalize Drugs and you will stop the "cash flow" that goes to the big shots "the white envelope under the table" the "payoff".

Illegal Drugs is big business in America, as the saying goes "bigger than US Steel"

When you drive by an automobile accident late at night and the cops and firefighters are all standing around talking and there are several bodies covered with white sheets laying in a field, it isn't needles and bags of pot that is scattered all over the road, it is brown bottles and vodka bottles.
While these people were out killing themselves the junkie was in his room smiling and counting the hair on his balls, the dealers were counting their money and planning on buying another pair of $500 sneakers and a pair of $5000 baggy pants that make them look like they just "sh!t themselves"

The big shots, the lawyers, the judges, the prison officials, many vermin poiticians and many in law enforcement are "Dead Against Legalization" because ILLEGAL DRUGS IS BIG BUSINESS AND BIG MONEY, legalize it and it would affect Wall Street.

A comparison of enlisted military people by state will show that the Red states far outnumber the Blue states in who signs up to fight for their country...The Red states have a greater # of Americans with conviction...the Blue states have a greater # of hypocrites who just obssess with complaining. Those that act vs those that talk ***** so to speak.

Dead on Harry. That is exactly why every other commercial is from some drug company. They want their peice of the pie too. If they can hook you "legally" then they can tap into the American craving for the next best drug.

If you could legally grow a couple of pot plants in your own home without the fear of getting busted, why would you ever pay for it again? It would mean the end of a HUGE black market and the end of importing it from other countries.

Realize this people, pot is not a gateway drug. Alcohol, tobacco and pain killers are. Ask any heroin, crack or meth addict which one they tried first and I'll bet 95% would answer it was a LEGAL intoxicant.

Marijuana is not physically addictive (they say it's "mentally" addictive). If any one of you has ever smoked, drank heavy or become dependent on prescription medications then you would be familiar with physical withdrawl syntoms. There is a VERY big difference.

Nicotine withdrawl is brutal and not even close to quitting smoking weed. Trust me, it's not even compareable.

I toyed with some heavier drugs in my youth (Blow, hallucinagens) and I've seen how they can ruin lives. I've seen many more people go downhill on prescription meds as I've gotten older.

Beware the real drug lords, they grace your TV screens every day pushing there product. They advertise it as a cure for what ails you, and quietly mention the side effects that can occur. But that's OK because they have a pill to cure those side effects, and another one to cure the side effects of that one. And so on and so on.

I would admonish people to drink in moderation and stay off the road. I would also advise people to be very wary of the next great cure-all, feel good pill. Stay off the road when your on them too. I think most people don't realize how strong they can be.

With that being said, I think I'll crack a Newcastle, take a perc and smoke a bone. Anyone need a ride?

    BTW Harry, you're not a whack-job. You're a realist.

I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't join the military because I don't believe in what our country is doing. I don't believe in that our government (regardless of which party is in charge) cares about the national interest, and I don't believe in giving my life for a cause I don't believe in. No doubt the blue-staters are more disgruntled right now.

Most of the people who signs up for the military come from poorer states. They enlisted because they don't have many other better options in life. They signed up because the military provides them the opportunity for education and a better future for their family.

In general, the Red states are less prosperous than the Blue states. Young men and women from Missisippi, Alabama, or Nebraska have less opportunities than those from those New York, California, or Illinois. This may explain why most of those who signed up for the military come from the Red states.

I am not questioning these Red states' folks patriotism or conviction. I am stating a fact. If you child has the opportunity to be a doctor or lawyer, I am sure YOU would deter them from going to Iraq.

That's interesting. Living in Chelsea, I can attest to this. Afterall, I'm surrounded by future doctors and lawyers. Shet, there may even be a Senator or two living in my 'hood. No poor around people here.

Sure, you can take what mikey said to an illogical extreme, but what he said is a major factor. First, I bet you'll find that more people from Chelsea, Everett, and Revere enlist than from Marblehead or Newton. Second, there are more opportunities for motivated poor people here than in the rural south, so the military is still not as much of an only option.

AYYY I see the left has once again bashing the SOuth and the military!

The high school graduation rate of the military IS GREATER THAT THAT OF THE GENERAL POPULATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are not poor and stupid, which has been said by in one form or another by every liberalposter on this board!

Vermont wants to suceed, let it!!

My wife and I moved from New York to Georgia, (and that is two college degrees and two masters degrees) moving from New York to Georgia.

For the move we got the following:

We sold our house in New York for twice what we bought it for.
You people paid to move us (HA!)
I got a raise, she took a cut in pay, however once you factor out the taxes, communter fees, she really didn't.
My neighborhood in Georgia is almost exclusively from other states, my neigbors are from Buffalo, New Jersey, Indiana, and Ohio.
My house is twice as big, and costs almost have as much! My property taxes are one quarter of what I was paying on Long Island, and I moved before the 27% property tax increase that came along with the Democrats taking over the county leadership on Long Island.
People move south, basically because it is a much better life, the people are much nicer, and much LESS RACISTS THAN IN NEW YORK, AND ESPECIALLY BOSTON.
Georgia was solidly Democrat since the civil war, however in the last five years, it has turned completely Republican, so much so, that Kerry didn't even bother running any TV ads here in 2004.

Georgia picked up 2 additional electoral votes oin the last census (guess which state that starts with Mass.....lost two) and will get at least one more additional electoral vote after the next census (gues which state will lose another one), this is true for all of the South!
