Practice squad move
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
The Patriots announced the signing of safety Ray Ventrone to their practice squad today.
Ventrone had been activated from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday. He played in Sunday's win over the Colts, appearing on the kickoff return and kickoff coverage teams. Ventrone did not play a defensive snap. The effort marked the first career NFL appearance for the 24-year-old Ventrone.
The Patriots waived Ventrone on Wednesday, to make room on the 53-man roster for cornerback Eddie Jackson, who was coming off the physically unable to perform list.
The now Patriots have all eight spots on the practice squad filled.
