"Rookie Jack Cassel replaced him and, in his major league debut, began with 2 2/3 scoreless innings – but it was Cassel who was optioned to Triple-A yesterday when the Padres, wanting a fresh arm, recalled reliever Mike Thompson. Ledezma doesn't have minor league options.

After Friday's game, Cassel spoke with his brother, Matt Cassel, a reserve quarterback with the Patriots who had completed 4-of-7 against Tampa Bay in an NFL exhibition game. “It's crazy how it worked out,” Jack said. “My brother's first (NFL) game was here in Cincinnati against the Bengals.”"

Useless but something I didn't know.
