    From the AFP wire.

Certainly good news, at least in my opinion. A bunch of knee jerk 'kinder gentler' bs slobber, turned back.

What ever happened to that old Hog Jowls "Murtha" he was quite a Hero to the Far Left Loons for awhile, just like Cindy Hag Sheehan, maybe they ran off together and are now shacking up in a Frisco Flop House..

Didn't Murtha want these Marines executed the day this story broke?

Yep. I believe he even claimed to have seen evidence they were guilty, statements that were denied strongly by Marines down the line.

Talk about the poster boy for pork and term limits.

Correct, Murtha owes these MArines an aplolgy, do you think he has the integrity to do so????

Will the NYT and Wa Ps have front page stories about their innocence?

I'm just shocked Wes didn't post this breaking info....

It's laughable to consider either of those possibilities. I don't mind senators speaking out against the war at all, but Murtha is gross.

Unconscionable acts are committed during war time. In this case, tossing grenades into house after house without knowing if that house is occupied by the enemy is not right. This is our fight for Democracy? I think you have to look at the big picture. I'm not saying the Marine is guilty, but a military court acquitting a Marine doesn't do much to shape my opinion. Until someone can explain the Mai Lai verdict and subsequent release of Lt. Callia for me, then I can't get too excited about this acquittal.

That's because you are without question the best documented Military HATER on this board going back the ENTIRE time I've been here. Your contempt for those that serve, particularly during time of conflict drips from every post you make on the subject. I mean that in the most loving way too :D

While that satement might be a little extreme (nothing personal, PF13), I certainly can appreciate the difficulty faced by these guys.

Think about it, a split second to decide if you or your friends live or die. Is that guy friendly? Is he carrying a bomb? A gun? Is that kid wired? Crap, they're shooting at us from that hospital. What do we do now?

Instead of needing to hold them to a higher standard, I'd suggest we need to hold ourselves to one--that is to think about the worst day of your life, maybe a dozen different things were going wrong, everyone's mad at you, no matter which way you turn something bad is going to happen, you just can't make a choice, you can't fix it...then you have to think...that's what they're going through. Only if they make the wrong choice, they die. If they make the right choice, someone else dies.

We have no real right to criticize unless we're damn sure. And the way Murtha and everyone jumped on these guys--is shameful.

So wait--because you don't agree with the outcome of one court martial, you think all courts martial are tainted? Is that what you're getting at?

Do you feel the same way about civilian courts?

(Don't get excited, I do...I think cops and prosecutors routinely ruin the lives of the innocent to make themselves look good.)

They were in a firefight and beign attacked from those homes. They were accused months after the incident by a "journalist" that had been held by the Iraqi gov for his ties to terrorist in a town controlled by Al Queda. This was pure BS from the start.

Now I'm the best documented Military Hater on this board. This board must be pretty tame.
Did you want to answer for Mai Lai.

Why do you take that like a dove? Guys like PiNY understand one language... That of reciprocal and proportionate firepower.

If I were in Haditha at that time, and being shot at from all directions, I'd have radioed in for a MOAB, or a Daisy Cutter. Of course, that'd be after they rejected my request for a nuke. :D
