I guess its more important to harp on the Bush admin than worry about genocide in Darfur and the burgeoning crisis in Iran right?

Trade practices are always important. Feeding your family does NOT take a backseat to war.

Be scared, be very scared. Look, over there, there's someone hiding in your shrubbery. He looks a little middle eastern.

Bush has lost his political capitol and his moral compass. He's all done. Cheney will continue running things until his heart stops beating.

Are you not capable of focusing on more than one issue at once? For crying out loud, should we go and delete every other thread on this board because of Darfur and Iran?

Forget Katrina, there's Darfur. Nevermind the spying, we've got Iran. Outting a CIA agent? Darfur again.

    Turd,
You're a smart guy, right? (note my lame attempt at softening you up with cheezy compliments before I try to sway you to my view) What exactly is the "burgeoning crisis in Iran and on which sources to you rely for this? I hope it isn't the CIfrigginA and the IAEC. Are you preparing for another trip down the Yellow Brick Road to see the Wizard? Don't be taken for another ride by these traitors. How can you believe the guys who would sell us out on the port security? I've been harpin' on the lack of protection of these ports for years, not to blow my own horn, but the admin is about to use selling points like "who better to protect us from Arab terrorists than Arabs" or some other ridiculous BS. Mark my words. It may not come true, but if it does, I'll look really smart!

I dont know, perhaps its the Iranian leadership themselves and even the French acknowledging that they are cranking up their nuclear program and that it will result in a weapons program.

This is the kind of situation that you simply cannot give the benefit of the doubt to given the nature of the Iranian leadership.

Are you willing to grab an M-16 and sign up for the invasion of Iran ferkrissakes, Turd? What the hell are you advocating here, man? This is exactly the kind of situation you have to give the benefit of the doubt for.

I think something got lost in the exchange. Because if I'm following the conversation, Turd (where did he get that name?!?) is saying that you can't give the benefit of the doubt to the Iranian leadership who (A) claim to want nuclear power for peaceful purposes but says israel should be wiped of the map, and wants to refine its own uranium without anyone watching, and (B) has as it's president one of the hostage takers from the Carter years. And your response to Turd is that we should give them the benefit of the doubt in this kind of situation.

In what situation is it that you say we should give them the benefit of the doubt? This one, where the Iranians are trying to get nuke, or do you have something else in mind?

Again, we digress from the topic at hand. This free trade globalism has to stop. We've all but destroyed the working middle-class! This is the single biggest threat to our country's future, not terrorism. There is a large segment (the majority) of our population that has no significant marketable innate talent. Nor do they posess the academic capabilities to thrive in college. The globalists are dooming the majority of our population to low paying retail service jobs. Of course, this is what they want. These people will then need public assistance to survive. We are in BIG trouble here, folks, and something HAS to be done to stop it!

My concern is not for Israel. Their concern is not for us. That's all fine with me. Israel is not a state in the United States. Their security is not our problem, it's their's. Isn't it bad enough we spend billions of dollars a year to keep them from getting run over? They have nukes. If they want to use them, let them do so at their own peril.

Iran (not Iranians) have no quarrel with us except that we are present as infidels in what they regard as their "Holy Land" whatever the fu-k that is and that we support Israel so much that they can't tell the difference between us. Leave them alone and let everyone there fend for themselves. Civil war is inevitable in Iraq and Iran is positioning themselves for a piece of the "partition pie".

Believe the CIfriggin'A if you want to, but these idiots don't have a very good track record in the region. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Woa, Nelly! Iran getting nukes is every bit as much a threat to us as it is to Israel. And they would hate us and think we are worthy of receiving a nuke REGARDLESS of whether we're anywhere near the Persian Gulf. America is the Great Satan for more reasons than just that. We are the producers and exporters of Godless movies, porn, homosexual propoganda, abortion, etc., many things that many liberals/pregressives are proud of and that are repugnant to Muslims.

Your suggested solution of abandoning Iraq and Israel and withdrawing all of our presence in the region, if that is in fact your suggested solution, not only wouldn't work, it would invite terrorist acts on US soil. It would send the same message that bin Laden took from Somalia, that America is weak and will run at the sight of blood.

GOOD POST, WHEN I SAY THIS I AM ACCUSED OF BEING A NAZI, KKK, BIGOT, RACIST AND A COMPLETE INSANE CHRISTIAN, WHITE INSANE, FLAG WAVING, RIGHT WING NEO CON AND I ALONG WITH SANTA CLAUS SHOULD BE BANNED AND DESTROYED.

IT IS ONLY SPOKEN IN WHISPERS AMONG MANY OF THEM BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF LIBERALS IN AMERICA THAT ARE VERY "ANTI SEMITIC", THEY GET VERY NERVOUS AND LOOK THE OTHER WAY SHOULD THIS BE POINTED OUT, IT DOESN'T FIT THEIR "HOLIER THAN THOU" IMAGE.

Wanting to leave Israel to fend for itself is not anti-semitic. The very phrase "anti-Semitic" is misleading because the word "Semite" refers to anyone living in the region that imcludes Arabs and Jews as well as Lebanese. Besides, is Israel synonymous with Jews? To me, that would be the same thing as equating Norway with Lutherans or Italy with Catholics. It's rediculous.

That's exactly what I propose. What do you base your claims on? Are you saying what happenned in Somalia caused the WTC attack? How do you make that connection?

I make that connection because bin Laden made that connection. He's the one that said that when the Americans ran from Somalia, it showed that we are a paper tiger who would run at the first sight of blood, or words to that effect. It's what emboldened him in his increasingly savage attacks against Americans and American assets.

The fact is that your proposal is a quintessential example of why national security cannot be left in the hands of people like you. Israel is an ally. If we abandon them, we send a message to the entire world that America cannot be trusted. It would probably make the Islamofascists ecstatic for a while, but don't think that would keep them from nuking us the first chance they get.

Trade should be fair - Chris Martin of Coldplay told me so

All debt to third world nations should be forgiven (as should my mortgage) - Bono told me so (except for the mortgage part but he's rich so he wont mind dropping 100k would he?)
