The guess of an extra 3rd is for the compensatory pick for Samuel.

Keep the machine running, trade one of this year's pick for a better pick next year. I'd say a 2 for 1, and if we fill more holes before the draft I'd do a 3 for a 2 along with the 2-1.
Oh, and lets wing it by drafting a sixth rounder this year with a huge upside.

PS. This should put to rest all the critics here who say that the Patriots are inferior in drafting.

Oh crap. Another great disappointing 2nd round... where they use 1 and trade 1 for a bonanza of lower round picks this year, and 1 for a 1st round pick next year.

Eh well. I still like going "YEAH I KNEW they'd get more value out of it..."

Um, assuming these aren't off the board in exchange for FAs by then...

This has been much discussed, with the general consensus that there will be a comp pick.
