Patriots Day
Draft Picks, First 2 Rounds

Overall
1st Rd 23rd
2nd Rd 34th from KC
2nd Rd 47th from SD
2nd rd 58th

Round 2, Overall Pick 47 - The Patriots acquired a 2009 second-round selection (No. 47 overall) and a 2008 fifth-round selection (No. 160 overall) from the San Diego Chargers in exchange for a 2008 third-round selection (No. 69 overall - FB Jacob Hester).

THAT'S NOT BAD...

Re: Updated Draft picks...

The Pats also have two 3rd round picks.

Re: Updated Draft picks...

I cant wait to see who get with all this cap space...FA or in Trades.

I cant wait for this draft.

I love being from New England!

Or do you mean they should have 2 third rounders if they get a thid round comp pick for Samuel signing with Philly?

Re: Updated Draft picks...

The guess of an extra 3rd is for the compensatory pick for Samuel.

Re: Updated Draft picks...

How many of these picks get pushed into 2010?

Keep the machine running, trade one of this year's pick for a better pick next year. I'd say a 2 for 1, and if we fill more holes before the draft I'd do a 3 for a 2 along with the 2-1.
Oh, and lets wing it by drafting a sixth rounder this year with a huge upside.

PS. This should put to rest all the critics here who say that the Patriots are inferior in drafting.

Who did we get the second one from?

Samuel is a lock for a 3rd round comp. (97-98)

6 picks in the 1st hundred.

Can Someone Provide a 2009 Draft Picks Summary?

Or point me in the direction of an up-to-date list of which picks are the Pats' in the upcoming draft?

Great, thank you!

(6 picks in the first 3 rounds. Wow.)

Oh crap. Another great disappointing 2nd round... where they use 1 and trade 1 for a bonanza of lower round picks this year, and 1 for a 1st round pick next year. :)

Eh well. I still like going "YEAH I KNEW they'd get more value out of it..."

Um, assuming these aren't off the board in exchange for FAs by then...

Re: Can Someone Provide a 2009 Draft Picks Summary?

there will be no comp pick for Stallworth as he became a FA when the Patriots didn't pick up his option
