    Good News.....

I got this off of Rotoworld - I do not have access to Twitter from work.
They got this from Breer's twitter account.

Patriots C Dan Koppen is expected to miss 6-10 weeks with the fractured ankle suffered in Monday night's game.
Koppen has a chance to return at mid-season, so injured reserve isn't an option at this point. NFL Network's Albert Breer calls the injury a "small crack, bad sprain in the ankle," with minor surgery likely. Koppen was a top run blocker in 2010, but the downgrade to Dan Connolly isn't as severe in pass protection.

    That's good news IMO

If he comes back full strength, he'll be a little more rested up for the playoffs too. Just hope we don't suffer too many in the win column till then.

Really good news, Koppen has been a really good player week in and week out his entire career and having him back for the play-off run would be great.

more of a reason to LET HIM GO then RE-SIGN HIMwhen he is healed. It is common sense folks. I hope BB ACTS on this and does NOT waste a roster spot for 8 plus weeks on an injured dude.

Did you not see the RE-SIGN him tidbit?

right now in time he is a wasted spot. Cut him and let him know we will pick him right back up when it is time.

There is so much wrong with this statement, I keep trying to find the sarcasm.

    1) Why piss him off? Nobody likes being released...even with a promise to re-sign at an unspecified later date.

    2) If I'm the Fins, I sign him immediately to a multi-year deal and move Pouncey to guard. If the Fins don't do it, I'm sure the Eagles would love to have him. Why take a chance on returning to the Pats when he can have a sure thing with another team...and promising him future money without having him under contract is a salary cap violation

    3) Once he is released, he can't rehab with the Pats. And that situation worked soooooooooo well for Manning, didn't it?

    4) The NFL gives each team 7 roster spots for injured dudes, developmental types and guys otherwise not ready to play.

If he by some small chance he comes to this Board, I hope Dan knows how much we fans appreciate all he's done for the team and, by extension, for us.

Best wishes for a full recovery!

Not to mention if you release an injured player the Pats would be on the hook for an injury settlement... they would have to pay at least 8-10 weeks of his salary even if they released him tomorrow
