If they have been tendered, they aren't going anywhere unless the team revokes the offer.

Depends on which tender has been put on them I believe.

I know that Rams can increase the tender on Atagwe, but if they don't he becomes a UFA.

But from the list, I don't know how many have a low tender.

Nope. The rules for RFAs vary by the amount they were tendered and how much they made last year. If some of the RFAs don't sign their tenders, they are unrestricted free agents.

Mankins isn't one of them. He is locked in, but if he doesn't sign his tender in the next two weeks, he could be making a couple million less than he figured.

Re: Unsigned RFAa scheduled to become FA

This has nothing to do with what level a player is tendered at unless the player was tendered at any level that represents less than 110% of his 2009 salary. A team has to up the offer to that level if his tender didn't already exceed it to retain his rights after June 1 regardless of which level they originally tendered him at.

In Atogwe's case they tendered him at the lowest (no comp) level, well below his 2009 salary, but then any level of RFA tender was going to be well below the $6.9M that 110% of his 2009 salary represents since the top RFA tender maxed out at less than half that. Basically Atogwe became a UFA because the Rams chose not to extend him a tender offer of at at least 110% because $6.9M is substantially more than they believe he's worth on a per year basis. It would appear in their case they were using the RFA period to simply buy time and retain first refusal while he tested/established his market. With no comp for signing him he didn't get an offer he liked between March 15th and June 1. Odds are he won't get one as a UFA either. The Rams have a long term offer on the table and they apparently aren't willing to bid against themselves figuring their offer will remain the best he gets and he'll play for them eventually for that reason.

Most RFA's are tendered at an amount that already exceeds their 2009 salary by more than 10%, as in Mankins case where his tender roughly doubles his 2009 salary, ergo they remain bound to their teams. Teams can even lower their tender between now and June 15th to match that 110% minimum tender value and retain the player if the player refused to sign his original higher tender by yesterday. In Atogwe's case since no tender level would have met his 110% minimum because of his high salary in 2009 it was always a case of the Rams were going to have to extend him another tender at that amount or let him walk.

Re: Unsigned RFAa scheduled to become FA

That's not why they tendered him at the lowest level. The top four levels required greater of tender or 110%. The fifth and lowest tender did not.

That only applies to the fifth and lowest tender (right of first refusal). The top four tenders would have already required 110% when they were tendered in February, so this date is meaningless for all of those players.

It's also meaningless for the players who were tendered at the lowest level (I don't think there are any left) and where their tender was not less than 110% of their previous year salary.

Basically, Atogwe's situation was an anamoly, and that's why we saw the change in his status last night.

I do not believe any other RFAs were not re-extended tenders except for Atogwe. Like I said in my previous post, that wouldn't make sense. Atogwe's situation was unique. This date didn't mean anything to all other unsigned RFAs.

So...when's Bill going to re-sign his best OLman to a multi-year extension?

Iggles safety Marlin Jackson got seriously injured in OTA's- Atogwe's probably on his way to Philly as we speak.
