Goodell likes to set precedent apparently. In nearly every explanation of the punishment he handed out, Goodell mentioned with significant pride that it was "unprecedented". It's becoming increasingly apparent to me that Goodell is trying to define his legacy as an enforcer. Goodell has had nearly all of his press centered around discipline. It's not just that though. It's his thirst for the limelight. Players must meet with him, team employees must meet with him, he is staging a full investigation...truely, all roads lead to Goodell.

So, this leads me to my central question for the thread: What is Goodell's vision? Does he even have one? What are his desires for the league? I haven't seen him impliment many effective strategies other than your standard Globalization efforts. He seems to me like more of a hall monitor than an executive. Your thoughts?
