It's funny you used the term "The United States of America, Inc" because I've been using it for months in my posts. I have said the business of America is not "business". And that our gov't is not in the business of "business"

Well....after the last 2 trillion in bailouts, what do I know?

well the good news is that anyone who will try to buck the trend will be branded a "socialist" and marginalized by the same corporations that own all the media. Hell, even a centrist like Obama got the same treatment.

Interesting comment, when we bailed out wall street did you blame the traders on the floor??? Blaming the UAW for the design and production decisions of the big three is idiotic..

So what is the premise of this thread ... that our government is in bed with big business since 2000? Please ... that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever read here. Big business as been in bed with our government since at least some time in the 1800's. Who has access to the President? The big donors do, and how long has that been going on - since like I said at least the 1800's. Started with Bush ...
The same people who call Bush an idiot give him credit for being a greedy genius at the same time.

I always love the dopes who pre-judge people by their names. "Hell, I hate anyone named Kennedy" seems to be their war-cry. Even if they're not related to "THE" Kennedy's!

I wonder if these people ever ask themselves, "Is it possible for someone to be a Kennedy AND be a good person?"

Most reply (to themselves) "No effn' way! Those smug, self-righteous, privelaged SOB's!"

Perhaps you can't blame them for production and design issues, but you can certainly fault them for making those companies swim with anchors.

A tired response, in reality contracts are negotiated by both sides.. the whole process is called a labor agreement just to blame organized labor for this mess seriously begs the issue. The share some responsibilty, but if there were better decisions from management the impact would have been lessened..

    Exsqeeeeze Me?????? WTF?

That's why he said, partners in crime....... Between Incompetance in management, and union that doesn't give a shzit about how the contract they negotiate saddles the company...... and you have a recipe for disaster. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE FUKC WE HAVE.

Noone just blamed orginized labor, we just lumped their sorry azzes in with the whoel pathetic lot. They certainly belong in there too.

They were b*tching not one hour after the "free rent" ship came in yesturday. Screw the american auto workers union, they can get the fukc in the back of the unemployement line like the rest of us who lost our jobs and aren't eligable for bailout money (well not me, but my wife anyway). Greedy douches. :disagreement:

Design and management are solely the responsibility of the Corporation and its "leadership". The union contracts are the responsibility of BOTH the workers and the Corporation. I'm not letting off the unions, but the Corporations have more than half the blame. I'd say 3/4. The anti-union arguement is a piece of the blame pie, though, just not as big as some would like it to be.
