Young undocumented immigrants line up for chance to legally stay, work in US under new deferral program - U.S. News

Days like today make me proud and hopeful that the American dream still lives. the American dream is how this country became great - keeping that dream alive for the youth in this country is a great and courageous move by Obama.

Hopefully today we made it easier to have more doctors, scientists, business people and others who will keep America strong. the youth in the USA who have little passion for this country should take notice and get their act in gear while there is still time.

What a great day when American citizens who pay taxes have their jobs taken by Illegal Aliens who are now citizens because of Obama.

Obama sent the word out "MULTIPLY AND YOU CAN STAY" and people wonder why health care costs are rising.

Wonder what would have happened to all of the "illegal" European Immigrants to the US in the end of the last century, if they all had to go underground???

Darryl - can you expound on your point?

The reason I ask is I am trying to level set what you are saying. Are you taking the JCdavey POV that anyone not Native American is an illegal immigrant (which is funny since they aren't "native" to here either), or was there a boom in illegals during the late 19th/early 20th century?

    Just looking for clarification.

America will become 2 or 3 different country's some day, people won't be able to communicate with each other due to their refusal to learn a common language and the worst part, they will be constantly killing each other, human beings love to fight, fill this country up with people who all want to keep the culture they were born with in their old country and there will be a never ending war in America.

Barack Hussein Obama is a "Socialist Communist Who Embraces Dictatorship" America as we knew it is dying, the enemy is Using The Constitution To Destroy The Constitution, when the time is right, when the Dictator is in place when the country has been divided, The Constitution Will Be Burned, The Ghosts of Stalin, Hitler, Castro and Chavez will Smile, our Former Presidents and our military who died in battle fighting for America will weep.

Not at all .. actually right of moderate ... or a compassionate conservative either one. Some issues to me should not be about politics and IMO this is one of them. Kids in this country through no choice of their own. They've done nothing wrong and if given the choice they choose this country.

Choices regarding the youth in this country should never be about politics ... choices for them should be what is best for them. These kids deserve a chance to be productive citizens.

Another way to look at it is what sane adult would choose prison for a kid. them being in a country they did not choose with no fair chance to have equality here is in effect putting them in prison. All they ask for is equality and equal opportunity and we should as decent American citizens give them that chance.

Does anyone here know there are 50,000 illegal Irish in this country ... 30,000 of them in NY.
Where is the outrage to send 30,000 illegal Irish out of the country so 30,000 Americans can get jobs?

There are about 3 million illegals here from Asia, Europe, Canada, Africa and the rest of the world.

But I don't see any stories about them ... sounds prejudice to me.

I can agree with a lot of that, many of these young people did nothing wrong, they couldn't choose where to be born, the blame is with the dirty politicians who did nothing while the Criminal Parents of these young people broke our laws and came here Illegally (yes that includes many republicans, people like that old fool McCain) I just hope these new Citizens don't try to turn America into another Mexico.

I'm all for getting people registered and having them pay taxes. We can't deport them. I'd prefer that they'd have to pay some sort of fee or not be eligible for some social services (to deter the ones that came here solely to mooch off the system). But once they're "in the system" they can deal with all the same stupid bull**** the rest of us do.

I pretty much agree with you khayos...

I just always chuckle about this because my experience sitting in the Immigration office in Jakarta Indonesia once a year and then having to leave the country for 24 hours to have the visa reup. That country may as well be a thousand years behind us in terms of "advancement", but they have a system of controlling and documenting who is in their country (non citizens wise). Yet with all our might, we can't....or maybe we don't want to.

My family came here legally. Both my mothers, and fathers families were seprated for years until the paperwork for each was approved. Some people might say that is cruel or what have you. Others say that is the price you pay for wanting, or for gaining the priviledge to come here. Both families not only came here legally, but in having to obey the rules, and make sacrafices the nations process required, each assymilated as immigrants should. That's not the case today, and we're a much, much poorer nation for it.

Immigrants are great. ILLEGAL immigrants are not. ;)

I feel the pain of those who were brought here illegally at a young age. I'd be all for some process that would grant them a legal opportunity to stay. However, the adults that broke our laws and came here illegally are another story. The problem with this process, is that it is done without the approval of congress. It's a unilateral decision done for political gain, in an election year. Furthermore, if I understand the order correctly, it's not merely the million plus school age kids who will get rubber stamped, it's anyone under 30, as well as their family.

We used to have a much better system of accountablity. Did you know that we have more foreign born people inside our country, than we do american born children under the age of 5? The country has been overrun by foreignors, and that isn't a good thing when you're running a massive welfare state. Immigration is a good thing. I'm a product of it. However, it needs to be done in a controlled, orderly, documented, planned, and most importantly, a LEGAL process. Today, the inmates run the assylum, and the middle class american taxpayer pays for it.
