Good stuff. If we got Barwin, Robiskie, Chung and Coffman, I'd be a very happy Pats fan, the scary thing is even with or without trades you mention, its realistic.

Well, with 12 picks, I don't mind giving one to the Lions to prevent another team like Miami or Pittsburgh for trading up into the slot. At that point in the draft, Barwin was my top player.

I'm not high on Chung, but overall a solid draft. I wouldn't be shocked to see them trade out of 23 if the draft unfolds like you say: there's a bit of a dead spot there in the late first round.

We have that many picks im almost thinking these mocks are helpless. I mean we could do sooo many different things, depending on who we want, whos gone, BPA, requests for trades etc

One things for sure i'll bet my mortgage we dont pick in all the designated spots

Some thoughts:

- I prefer Wood to Luigs, but doubt he'll last that long.
- I don't pass on Beatty at #23 - the trade isn't worth passing on the potential of a franchise LT. Having taken an OT, I'll prioritize defense over an OG/C in round 2.
- Since I didn't do your trade at 23, I trade #58 and #89 to move up to around #43 and take Robert Ayers when he falls into the 40's.
- I'm not sure why we would have to trade up to #33 from 34 to get Barwin. I don't see Detroit going that way. But since you have it, I'll leave it.
- I like Chung, but Sean Smith is still available and I like him better.
- I don't want a TE at this point.

So I take your mock and end up with:

To each his own, I guess. I have Ayers as a UDFA for the Pats. I guess it doesn't matter if I had him as a 3rd rounder, he's gone on the first day. I don't have Canfield at all...don't want him.

I agree with Beatty, but if a team like Cincinnati who desparately needs an OT makes that offer, I'll take it. If I were to draft at #23, he would have been my guy.

I like Smith quite a bit...and I had the Pats taking him in the mock on the other thread. But the fact is we need a run-supporting safety much more than we need yet another corner who can play free safety...making Chung's value higher to me.

What I possibly would do differently would be to pass on Chung to pick up Jared Cook or somebody, and come back with Chip Vaughn or David Bruton later.

Depending on how the patriots value the OLB prospects, if there was a run on them, you might see them trade up as well (ala Warren a few years ago).

23: Hope to see an ILB, Cushing or Malauga if he's there. Hope Belichick thinks these guys can play that position.

34: Michael Johnson

2nd: Barwin

2nd: Best safety still available

If we come out of the first 2 rounds with a safety, two pass rushers, and an ILB, I'll be psyched.

I don't think Chase Coffman is very good.

And I'm very intrigued my Michael Johnson.

Uncle Heat a fine job, and your draft looks like a Real one. What i mean is there is not the usual QB taken first WR second etc. like you see on other mock drafts. And i mean the pro mocks, were i've seen us taking B Cushing for example. I just can't see BB taking a guy like Cushing, I maybe wrong but hes not a BB kind of player.

I'm starting to come to this same realization. If the draft falls as expected, I don't like the value at #23. The 2nd-4th rounds look like the sweet spot in this draft class. So I'm planning on yard work Saturday afternoon because I suspect the Pats may drop out of round 1.

But I'll keep the radio on just in case...

1. 5 second round picks? Yeesh. I don't see that happening. But it's an itneresting exercise.

2. Stafford drops all the way to 18? I really don't see that happening. And you have Sanchez taken before Stafford. I also don't see that happening but I guess it's your personal opinion that Sanchez is better.

3. The Bears trade away the opportunity to draft Stafford for a mere 6th round pick? This is so dumb. Kyle Orton is NOT the answer. If Stafford fell that far they would HAVE to take him. Unless they were getting offered two 1st round picks in return, they should take him. A mere 6th is not enough for the top rated QB of the draft.

4. I'm not saying I like the QBs in this draft, but I just don't see them sliding that far.

5. Why a wide receiver for the Pats that early? Do you think it's that big of a need or do you just like Robiskie that much?
