UDFA Signings Thread

I don't want to be a party pooper, but this article from a Fargo paper says he wasn't signed as of when they interviewed Dragosavich yesterday.

Obviously, it's possible that they did sign him, but no official word yet.

Thanks for the info. I was skeptical about that, but the source I cited had changed their info from (tryout) to (signed). I asked for their source and they said nfldraftbible. I am trying to get their source now. The only other source I've seen that says he is signed is a wikipedia page on him, which obviously is not a strong source.

In light of the information you have provided, I think putting him back in the tryout category is warranted.

Updated summary of info:

Confirmed Signings:
LB Vince Redd, Liberty (Boston Globe)
DT Chris Norwell, Illinois (Boston Globe)
OT Josh Coffman, East Carolina (Boston Globe)

DE Casey Tyler, Portland State (Boston Globe)
LB Gary Guyton, Georgia Teck (Boston Globe)
TE Jon Stupar, Virginia (Boston Globe)
LB Keith Saunders, Alabama (Boston Globe)

In for workout only, no contract signed yet:
RB Kenny Cattouse, Troy (Draft Daddy and Boston Globe)
P Mike Dragosavich, North Dakota State (Boston Globe)
TE Tyson DeVree, Colorado (Boston Globe)

Reported as Patriot UDFAs:
OG Ryan Wendell, Fresno State (Multiple Sources)
RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Ole Miss (Multiple Sources)
SS Mark Dillard, Louisiana Tech (Multiple Sources)

Note: Signed Contracts not confirmed

That same page actually includes a link to a local news report, which noted that he was offered one UDFA contract, presumably by another team, with no signing bonus, but decided to come to Foxboro. So at least he has some intelligence. :D

These players may have signed contracts, but no source I have found specifically has said so.
Reiss is saying that Green-Eillis WILL sign...in his latest blog entry...
I have seen on some college blogs and sites that both Wendell and Dillard have signed.

I'll check that info out. Thanks.

Dragosavich has signed.

The initial info I saw on nepatriotsdraft.com was right. It is now being reported by KFFL as well:

Crummey, Feliciano, Gardner, Haynos, Henderson and Lattimore sign with NFL teams
April 28, 2008

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - One day after the conclusion of the 2008 NFL Draft, six former University of Maryland football players signed free-agent contracts.

OL Andrew Crummey (San Diego), DL Carlos Feliciano (New England), DB Isaiah Gardner (Jacksonville), TE Joey Haynos (Green Bay), LB Erin Henderson (Minnesota) and RB Keon Lattimore (Dallas) all agreed to deals Monday, according to each of the players.

Defensive tackle Dre Moore was chosen Sunday with the 16th pick in the fourth round (115th overall) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Randy Starks was the last Terrapin defensive lineman to get drafted. He was taken by Tennessee in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft.

Looks like Feliciano is aboard...6"6"...315.....maybe a backup NT??

I checked on DeVree and Cattouse just to make sure they had not signed.

DeVree accepts Patriots’ invitation
By Patrick Ridgell
Longmont Times-Call

Former Colorado tight end Tyson DeVree said Monday he has accepted an invitation to participate in the New England Patriots’ rookie mini-camp this weekend. He has not agreed to a free agent deal with the club, but said he “hopes that comes after this weekend.”

DeVree was an honorable-mention, all-Big 12 player in 2007 when his 28 receptions were CU’s second highest. He led the team with six touchdown receptions.

DeVree said he had a similar invitation from the Chicago Bears. The Patriots selected former CU cornerback Terrence Wheatley with their second-round pick in last weekend’s NFL Draft.

I couldn't find anything local on Kenny Cattouse. The Globe says it is just a tryout. That's the best info I found.

Redd, Guyton, Coffman are the ones that are interesting me most so far. Hopefully some of these guys land on the practice squad.

Dragosavich is the most interesting to me because I think our punter is subpar and Dragosavich probably has the best chance of becoming a starter than any other UDFA we have signed. Actually, Dragosavich is probably the ONLY one with that chance.

From all accounts, Dragosavich has a monstrous leg.

Plus, and I don't know if you noticed this, but his name is Dragosavich.

I agree with you. It's hard to find out if he is trying out, agreed to sign,

or has actually signed. There are conflicting reports on him.

Reiss is saying that Green-Eillis WILL sign...in his latest blog entry...
I have seen on some college blogs and sites that both Wendell and Dillard have signed.

Rush for 4,000 yards in your career (Big Ten / SEC) you had better sign him! Interesting note on DT Norwell is that he signed for three years!

He is interesting because he has a big leg and has kicked in bad weather (North Dakota St). However, from the film I saw of him, he is a three step punter, and thats a problem in the NFL.

Do you this season? or at all? I feel Guyton has the physical tools to become a starter in the NFL someday. Not this year though.

If he received a bonus, it could be spread out over 3 years.

Yeah, I've heard that and I've heard they may be a problem with his technique resulting in the ball not turning over.

I guess we'll see. Our current punting situation is far from ideal. I think there is an opening for someone to step up and step in to a starting role there.

Toribio to Miami not here

Although Draft Daddy STILL has Toribio signing here...I really believe it's Miami where he will end up in camp with...
From Cason-Newman's football site

"4/28/08 - Football
Two Eagles Sign Pro Contracts
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman wide receiver James Banks (Indianapolis, Ind.) and defensive tackle Anthony Toribio (Miami, Fla.) both signed contracts with NFL teams today. Banks signed with the Cleveland Browns and Toribio with his hometown Miami Dolphins."
Says it all...

LOL, Dragosavich is a pretty kick a** name. Yeah, he interests me as well, I kept him off the list b/c he's a punter, and I can only go so far in saying a punter interests me :D

But I agree with you - I have a feeling he'll wind up on the actual roster. There were a lot of folks on here who thought we might've spent a late round pick on him and I know most draft stuff I read had him getting drafted.

Plus, like you said, take a look at some of the long punts he had:

Does anyone know how reliable NFL Draft Bible is as a source

of UDFA information? KFFL refers to them for many of the

UFDA signings.

I'll check that info out. Thanks.

I just sent an e-mail to Rick Serritella at NFL Draft Bible regarding

Mike Dragosavich. He answered back that Dragosavich was initially

reported as a signing but it has been changed to a tryout.
