That's about 1/6 the distance around the world at the equator.

The military has gone from being incompetent to being just silly.
What is the point? Why do they feel the need to do this? Is it possible that the United States of America feels the need to impress a starving, tiny, third-world nation?

$33 million for that missle...$33 million already spent, yes...but still wasted...we know that we can hit a target that far away.

Not to mention that poor bastid who was sailing from Australia to Hawaii who just happenned to be in the wrong place at the wrong time... :D

    I liked this part:
"The launch was delayed by a day because of a power outage at a radar facility that handles flights in and out of Southern California. The purpose is to test the defense system's reliability and accuracy."

Isn't "power" important to a defense system? Delayed for 1 day?

Why anyone thinks this is news, I don't know. We've been sending missiles that far, with great accuracy, since the 1960s.

I think Bush got a stiffy and had to show that his was the biggest? I would love to know the reasoning for this...curiosity if nothing else.
