WASHINGTON (AFP) – Two-thirds of Americans favor investigating whether the George W. Bush administration overstepped legal boundaries in its "war on terror," according to a poll released Thursday by USA Today and Gallup.

A majority of respondents said a probe should be launched into allegations that the Bush team used torture to interrogate terror suspects.

Investigators also should look into the former president's program of wiretapping US citizens without first securing court-issued warrants, respondents said.

About four respondents in 10 polled by USA Today (38 percent) favored criminal investigations, while about a quarter (24 percent) said they want an investigation without criminal charges being filed....continued

No, I think it's a waste of money. Which is why we should add it to the stimulus bill which is also a waste of money.

Lets see what else was there. That the PUBS spent 40 million ,yes 40 million dollars on investigating with Ken Star uh.

    Clintons and the land scandal

    Travel gate

    Lewinski

The suicide death of one of Clintons aids?

    Post office scandal

I'm sure there are more. Ken Star (who was to investigate ONE thing) kept rolling out a new reason to investigate the Clintons about once every 6 months to a year.

    But War crimes

Lying to get us into a war

    Katrina

    Outing a CIA agent

    illegal wiretapping

firing prosecutor's because they weren't conservative enough

KBR feeding the troops bad food and water. on and on and on it goes.

And the worst or best part they have come out and admitted it

But none of these rise the level of a hummer in the White House as far a criminal action goes.

I wouldn't waste the money on a probe into the "War On Terror" because the chances of that report being truthful and factual are slim to none.

Do these same people realize that Obama has left open the ability to use torture if need be ... Oh he has but I don't think many know it. If we were to suffer another 9/11 type of event that language is written into the procedures for interrogation by the Obama administration. If he decided he needed to use torture ... I'm with him. How can it be called torture when it's used against a person who has little value for human life??? I guess if I was more left brained I would understand this ... because I still don't get it. One can kill, murder, bomb, shoot, knife someone but you can't torture them ... well okay then.
