Here's a little from NFL Draft Scout :

Shelton : 5'11 1/2", 172. 4.48 40 at his pro day.
20 yard shuttle : 4.20
3-Cone : 6.77
For reference, Chad Jackon's Shutt and 3-Cone were 4.03 and 6.74. Shelton's shuttle wasn't very good but of the 3-Cones they have listed, Jackson had the third best and Shelton would have been right below him. They didn't include Shelton in the sortable ones probably because he wasn't ranked high but his 3-Cone was very good.

"Shelton is a fine all-purpose athlete who reminds scouts of the Indianapolis Colts' Brandon Stokley for his ability to find the soft spot in the zone and settle in to make the clutch catch. He made a quick recovery from a 2004 knee injury that required surgery to play an important part in the team's receiving rotation."

Mays : 6'0", 235. No times.

Pre-2005 :
"Talented athlete who could be ready to assume a crucial role at linebacker ... is set to start at inside linebacker for the Irish this fall ... had an excellent spring practice capped by a standout performance in the 2005 Blue-Gold Game ... had a game-leading six tackles (two solos), including 1.5 for losses (three yards) and one quarterback sack (two yards) in the Blue-Gold Game ... one of ten members of the Irish selected to the team's Leadership Committee by a vote of his teammates ... a special teams mainstay throughout his career ... a three-time monogram winner ... a fifth-year senior who has played in 36 games over the last three seasons.

Don't know anything else about him.

Mainly it's important to establish Notre Dame as one of our farm systems. That will help Charlie' recruiting, which in turn will help our drafting in the years ahead.

Here is some more info on the players from scout.com
MLB Corey May:
Postives- Lateral movement, Speed
Negatives-Tackling Technique

Flying under the radar screen, Mayes significantly improved his game in ‘05. A likely free-agent signing who can make it as a backup linebacker\special-teams player.

Not much on Shelton, 74th ranked receiver, 25.5 yards per catch (impressive)
He has good hands, runs good routes, comes back for the ball; he can block, and goes after the ball aggressively.

any ND offensive player is a good, cheap pickup for depth. they already know our offense.
