Obama has basically manipulated the salary cap to win now and worry about the bill when hes long out of town.

Facts about the Affordable Care Act and seniors:

Seniors and the Affordable Care Act ? Fact Sheets | HealthCare.gov

Sec. Kathleen Sebelius: The Affordable Care Act - Stronger Benefits to Seniors, Billions in Savings This Year

The emphasis is on cost savings, not denial of coverage and treatment. The Ryan approach is to "end Medicare as we know it," and turn it into a coupon book, costing the average senior $6,500 per year.

It's good to start having this conversation. We have two sons of privilege proposing to gut the safety net they and their ilk will never need. Ryan used it anyway, going through college on Social Security survivor benefits. By the way, I got pretty much the exact same benefit during college, though it does sound like he qualified for more -- my dad, like his, died when I was a teen. I do not, however, advocate gutting said system.

"This much -- what's in my pocket -- and no more!!! Stop the madness!"

You oughtta add that fact to the list:

Paul Ryan went through college as the beneficiary of a system he wants to destroy.

Look up pay for performance. It will close hospitals and reduce access.

Do you learn to spell? Boo!

All this is organizational shuffling of future plans of money. It's silly to think of the money literally being taken away.

It's silly to think we're borrowing so much money from China.

It's silly to think the Ryan plan ends Medicare.

You can guarantee that Medicare will go NOWHERE.

All the tea party folks and the old people on respirators will remember their love of social services once it's their time on the chopping block.

It's a refrain that rings true from conservatives - once you give an entitlement it's nearly impossible to take it away.
