Nate Silver said there could be as many as 10,000,000 votes yet to be counted.

    There Are No "Missing Voters"

Republican pollster Bill McInturff demolishes an early theory of how Obama won: Voters who didn't show up. In fact, some are still to be counted, and others were affected by Sandy — but swing state turnout was up!

From bits and pieces I hear it seems the Obama people made the effort to vote and the romney people on the coasts and swing states did not.

Yeah, even when you put in the absentee ballots, it would still be south of 60%, which is pretty unimpressive compared to a number of countries. Hell, even Russia, with its perpetually shady elections, managed 60% last year.

A lot of people don't think their vote matters. Things do not change, the winner never does what he says he will do... why vote?

Commonly referred to as "getting out the vote", despite the millions spent on advertising it comes down to the election "ground game"....

You're right, the turnout was okay only relative to other elections here at home. I got curious about turnout in other countries and noticed that some of the best turnout is in countries that do not have compulsory voting. The US is really bad in this regard. I have long thought we ought to return to teaching civics in elementary or secondary school.

Below that table, is a chart showing the decline in the presidential races. The US look pretty similar to some other countries in terms of turnout rates, but what is most interesting is why was there so precipitous a drop in turnout from 1990 to 2000?

If it was more efficient to vote, may have a better turnout.. there are those who just do not want to wait in line for any period of time.

We vote like we were in Colonial Times, there is no need for that...

My thought is to send everyone a ballot at home(would verify address), with some type of barcode and before you can get in line to vote the ballot needs to be filled out. When you get to the front of the line you verify your identity, make sure it matches the vote you received and bingo it goes in the machine...

The current system of big books that they have to go through, is cumbersome and unweildy not to mention the amount of time people spend behind the curtain making decisions, that they should have already made.

Got to hand it to Obama for getting out the low information voters.

Answering questions like "Whats your favorite xbox game?" On venues like MTV vs having a press conference on Benghazi really paid off for him.

Benghazi...what a tired, disrespectful topic to hang on to. The deaths of Americans at the hands of terrorists being used as a political football at the end of an election because you knew your boy had nothing going on so you had to connect some dots to make up a picture you could use. Looking at clouds in the sky that look like animals to you so much that you actually believe they are animals...when they're actually just clouds. Children do that.

Watch and learn my son. Diane Feinstein is on to the cover up and so aren't some othjer dems.It ain't going away.

Anyway you had 25% of the taker population that voted for Obama and 25% of the people that want to give the takers what ever they want for a total of Obamas 50%.

Does that imply that other dems are not involved?? And Feinstein is the sole culprit.. Behghazi has been explained, but many choose the edited versions of the bloggers.

What all of the right discounts were the efforts of Perry, Gingrich et al who beat the crap out of Romney and effectively dehumanized.. the consequence was that he had to then humanize himself and failed..
