Banta-Cain has surgery

According to SMY, he had surgery on Friday for a torn abdominal muscle.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

That is not good.. recovery time??

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

Mike Lombardi stated on NFLN yesterday that there are some key players throughout the league that have significant injuries. He also stated that he wasn't going to throw out any names because he was unable to confirm the injuries, but said that people should not be shocked by injuries.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

So will the PUP list still be around?

However, this changes things for the Patriots and they will almost certainly be in the market for an outside linebacker when free agency opens within the week

Naive Shalise, hahaha.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

so, do you think this will this push them to sign a legit OLB for insurance? isn't our OLB depth thin as it is already?

Markell Carter's chance! :D

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

lol, and it's my chance too.

I'm sure we'll be saying hello to mr. JAG in the next couple of weeks.

You're probably right. :(

I bet we'll see a couple of UDFA OLBs, they'll come here since its the best scenario for one of them since the competition/depth for the pats OLBs is a joke. Hopefully one can shine.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

just release him, or negotiate him to a cap number to as close to 1 million as possible.

This news makes the upcoming free agency more interesting!! :rocker::rocker:

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

You guys may be getting ahead of yourselves. Kyle Arrington may become a full time OLB.

The term "key player" would eliminate TBC.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

that hurts big time:(

Wait - there are football players with injuries?
How does this guy keep getting these scoops?
Yeah, I know he doesn't exactly have names, but that's amazing.

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

Doomed? Are we doomed?

Not at all... ,but our Cap takes a big hit when we find a better replacement as we drop TBS most likely.

What does TBC make if cut? What is cap hit on the guy?

Whether you like him or not, a guy who plays in 67% of the defensive snaps is a "key" player.....

Re: Banta-Cain has surgery

Sure hope he makes it back in enough time to learn our system.
