Not sure if anyone knows what rookie free agents are in for tryouts, but if we could compile a list with names and numbers, that would be awesome.

From what I could gather:

Aaron Perez, P, UCLA
WR, #82:
WR, #15
WR, #16
FB?, #43
LB/DL?, #48
WR, #10

I wonder if one of the wide receivers and the fullback are Tyree Barnes and Eric Kettani.

Another player is Josh Allen RB/WR Troy.

Good luck with your quest. This is hush hush information every year. Wish the press would purse
the matter further.

One of the wide receivers was Tyree Barnes according to the Herald.

It's really odd...as three four years ago..these players were more or less known...last year there were 5-6 players...2 RBs 4 WRs and only two were ever identified...
This year there are 13 unidentified tryout players... THREE it seems we know about...the other ten???
Perez P Allen WR Barnes WR.... the others???

The press has contacts with the players after the drills. All they
have to do is collect names. Maybe BB does not let the players
identify themselves.

As I mentioned on another thread, three tryout players were signed
last year.

It's always happened that TO players get signed...I agree that the press should find out...and I am hoping that WILL happen this year..

Heard Angelo Craig is in camp as well. I think he is #48

Craig, Listori, and Wendell are players who were already on the roster

who were present today to help out.

That makes sense for Craig and Listori since they haven't been through camp with the Pats and can pick up some good info out of this, Wendell was in Training Camp, but Dante may have needed a Center and took the low man on the totem pole.

In the brief glimpse we got from the Patriots.com coverage of mini-camp, WR #15 looked good.

I noticed him too. I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

Not that this helps with who was brought in for a tryout, but Christopher Price reports that their are thirty players at minicamp, which would mean that there are ten players that were brought in for tryouts if my math is correct: 30 minus 12 draftees, minus 5 UDFA, minus 3 who were already on the roster (Craig, Listori, Wendell) equals 10.

As far as we can tell, those ten include:
P Aaron Perez, UCLA
RB/WR Josh Allen, Troy
WR Tyree Barnes

Leaving seven unknowns.

That's the best I can do for right now. If you add all of those up, it equals 27, which means there are another two whose number we don't even know.

Another tryout player. Robert Ortiz WR. Tried out last year.

AA few short...I think pretty good at this point...BUT would like to know them all of course...

We're all nutty to worry about them. None of them is worthy

of a spot on the practice squad.

What else is there to talk about this preseason? Hearing about Ortiz's impressive route-running gets me excited this time of year :)

I disagree.

First of all, at this time of year, is there anything better to talk about?

Second of all, there can be some very intriguing tryout players. For example, Tommy Breaux from Towson. Power forward converted wide receiver. 6-8, and scored a ton of touchdowns his senior year. He didn't get signed by a team, but is a very intriguing player to watch (he actually did get a tryout for the Redskins).

So while we probably won't see or hear of the majority of these guys again, there is a good chance one or two of these guys gets signed, and a chance that one of them could possibly be a diamond in the rough. Yeah, it's a long shot, but you can't skip any steps when team-building.

Nutty? This is the draft board! Obsessing about obscure PS candidates is our bread and butter.

But if you prefer...

Hey, does anybody think the Pats might try to sign Jason Taylor? ;)
