Is there anybody that could drop to Denver's pick that you'd consider dealing 22 and 44 (or 22 and next year's #1) for??

There seems to be a good chance that one OT could slide, what if it was Davis? Pierre-Paul? Spiller?

#10 is a possibility too if Jax wants Tebow but not that high. I'm not sure I'd do it, though, MAYBE an OT to give us bookends with the new guy and Vollmer. More likely I'd stand pat and maybe move up less if someone gets to 16 or 17 I really like.

    Unless they really want McClain.

    Don't see it personally.

So if Bulaga were available at #10,you might consider trading #22 and Jacksonville's second rounder back to them to take him?

The pros for Bulaga are impressive. He has excelled in a zone blocking scheme very similar to ours and he absolutely destroyed Ga.Tech's Morgan in the bowl game. The short arms scare me, but the feet and drive blocking are above average. Very good at sinking his hips and he rolls his hips pretty good as well.

An Oline of Vollmer-Mankins-Koppen-Neal-Bulaga, is not bad. I would like to see us upgrade Koppen, but next year's draft has 2 really good athletic centers in O'Dowd and Wisneski.

I think McClain is very high on the Pats draft board, but the same is true in KC and Denver and Green Bay and Miami and a lot of other boards.

I don't see anyone worth trading up for other than Haden, and the Patriots seem pretty set at CB (as opposed to their other needs) so...

    Pass on trading up.

If there as a sizzling lock of a pass rusher up there, I'd consider it, but unless the Patriots have Morgan rated highly, I doubt they are going to make that jump. Nor are they going to give up their draft for a kid with health troubles (McClain), a totally unproven Aaron Maybin clone (JPP).

The only kid worth making that kind of jump for is Haden.

After Denver released A. Davis (other ILB) there was clearly a need and McClain is a beast. Was also considering Earl Thomas.

Earl Thomas is an intriguing prospects. He is the only guy in this draft class that reminds me of Merriweather. He has the speed and quick twitch to play CB,but the courage and tackling ability to play safety.

With this player you get a guy with the ability to cover like a corner or come up in run support like a safety. That is the type of versatility that BB likes in his safeties. This gives BB the ability to play either Merriweather or Thomas as FS or SS on any given play.

On the down side, like Merriweather, Thomas misses tackles. In the championship game he missed several that cost Texas big time. That would have to be cleaned up and since we have not taught Merriweather how to clean that up, can we really expect to teach Thomas to clean it up?

In the end however, I think Thomas is an immediate upgrade over Sanders or Mcgowan, once he learns the defense, which means giving him a red shirt year to learn.

My question is; what would drafting Thomas say about how the organization views Chung's development?

I don't see McClain as worth a top 10 pick anymore, not after finding out he has Crohns. It's just too much of a health risk to take someone with an incurable disease in the top 10. Honestly, it's probably going to be Odrick or Spiller at 22 or a tradeback. If this draft is as deep as everyone says, why wouldn't you trade back for extra picks?

I'd move up for Derrick Morgan or Jason Pierre-Paul.

As for C.J. Spiller, this is the great joke of all time, the guy is not worth it. Both Spiller and Jahvid Best are hugely overrated and I'll be shocked if they become big players in the NFL.

Didn't realise he was diagnosed with it. Terrible news for the guy and it certainly will trouble a lot of teams when it comes to drafting him.

    A horrible disease.

You sir, are the man. Someone agrees. I think Best will bust. Spiller could become a Faulk/Bush type of back, but that's not deserving of a 1st round pick.

I can see them moving down but not up. There's a lot of value in this draft
that can be gotten in later rounds for less dollars.

    Next to nothing.

NE plays in Nickel and Dime packages over 50% of the time, a cover Safety for the Nickel just makes for better run defense in that package, the same with four safeties in the Dime. BB wants improved coverage without sacrificing much in the run, his emphasis on Safety seems to indicate where he is leaning.

The one player I would trade up for is Eric Berry. Should he magically slide to 10 or 11 (rigggght) I'd be all for it.

I imagine Belichick would be too, if the comparisons to Ed Reed are valid, regardless of our depth at the position.

He will be the best player coming out of this draft IMO.

Berry is a playmaker, period. Speed, coverage ability, courage to deliver the wood and a leader to boot.
