But not for Tennessee's #1 this year. Get Tennessee's 2nd rounder this year and a 2008 first round pick

I dont like the idea of having 3 first round salaries to pay in the same year. Spread it out, 2 this year, 2 next year

    #24 Jersey

Although he's no Pac Man, the Titans did sign Harper from Indy so they aren't desperate.

True, but this trade allows Tennessee to just get rid of PacMan altogether. I dont see Nick Harper as their long term #1 CB.

I think its a fair trade. I mean if Kyle Boller was worth a 2nd and a future #1, Asante definitely is

First and third this year.. Use the high first, the third and the 24th.... Trade away the 28th for next year.

I'd want Tennessee's 1st and 3rd this year or their 1st this year and their 2nd next year.

With an extra 1st and 3rd the Pats could move up for a good CB in the draft.

Pacman is scum and the Titans are in a bind but I dunno if they would be willing to give up this much.

Harper allows Tennessee not to have to reach to get another CB now. That means they do not have to give up a second this year and a first next for a guy like Samuel. They can use that second to draft a CB and develop him behind Harper while keeping next year's first rather than giving up those picks for Samuel.

Why are we so intent on trading Asante Samuel? Who will be his

his replacement? Some wet nosed rookie or a washed up veteran like

    Tory James?

I'm not intent on trading him, but if he is insisting on $10 million a year over the first three years or sitting out I say trade him to the hiighest bidder. Samuel just isn't that good to be raked over the coals for.

If he is willing to play for the franchise tender (which is my preference because a half of season of good playing doesn't justify a big long term contract to me. He needs to prove more) or take a deal the Pats are willing to sign that won't hurt their negotiations with Ty Warren or Vince Wilfork or Ben Watson in the near future; then I say welcome back to him. I don't think Samuel is a player that the Pats need to keep at nearly all costs. He is not an elite CB.

If you had the choice between an obscene contract, a holdout, or a trade, which would you chose?

Which nets the most in return?

What makes you think Tenn. would give up that for Samuel? Plus they have to pay him huge money....why would they want to do that? Just wishing and hoping?

Suppose they offer their #2 this year or their #3 this year and that's it. Would you do it? Or take a risk on grumpy Samuel holding out or playing so-soish just to spite the pats. Of course if he's so-soish then it hurts him too.

For that reason if Samuel plays for the franchise tender there is no way he will half-a## it. There's too much money riding on his performance. Basically a second contract year. He'll try to play his best to up his value.

I won't get into this pick that pick value stuff but this is why I thought this very thing today.

Tenn needs two things now, a top corner and a return man,
    enter asante.

I would rather sign him or he play this year as well but I feel if a trade is there this is the best supply\demand situation for the pats.

    Just my opinion.

I always like Asante play.....but if he is going to be a DRAMA QUEEN I am sure BB&SP will do what best for the team...Pats will not be bulled into a contract....Is there any talk about a trade or is this just what being said here:confused:
