When you have to have the "top US Socialists" writing Op-Ed pieces in order for them to "count the ways" that someone "is not like us", it's clearly NOT a great confidence booster that they are being incredibly truthful :singing:

Do you really think that Llewellyn would say that Obama IS a socialist? I mean, come on now. If the top socialist in the country came out and said that Obama was a socialist, it would ruin Obama. Don't be so naive.

But the fact that he NEEDS to come out and say that Obama isn't one is quite telling to me.

Yes, these communists love capitalists. Castro loved Reagan and Bush. Chavez loved Bush. LOL. It's really quite comical.

Think about it Darryl. This country, generally speaking, dislikes the mere mention of socialism. Do you think the "top US socialists" want socialism? Um, yeah. :confused2: Therefore, since socialism is disliked (1+), and the socialists want socialism (1), why would they say Obama is a socialist? The answer is, they wouldn't (= 2)! These guess want anyone closest to their ideals to succeed, and their ideals clash with that of the general populace.

For the record, I'm not calling Obama a socialist here. My comments are merely directed at the logic used to post this article, as evidence that Obama is not a socialist.

So, someone titling themselves as the "Top US Socialist" <cough> claims BO is not like him? And you use this silly article as proof that BO is not a Socialist? and totally disregard his policies and all the czars surrounding him?

Dude, you really need to slow down. You claim that Beck, Palin, Limbaugh are all idiots - you're bizarre posts are actually making them sound credible.

Actually the socialist guy mentioned specific policy positions, such as health care and taxes where Obama differed greatly from him. This is how you go about winning a debate. You don't do it like those idiots Beck, Palin and Limbaugh, whose technique is to just keep saying it until people like you follow along.

So because he differs from Llewellyn, that means that he isn't a socialist? Are all socialists exactly the same in their beliefs? Obama most certainly is different from capitalists, in belief...closer to socialist than capitalist. Combine in the people who he surrounds himself with, and what their beliefs are, and I feel safe calling him a socialist.

This is why its a complete waste to even talk to you PINY. Obama spent 55 minutes talking about his plan just last night and never once said 'lets toss everything out and go for single payer.' Yet here you are lying about it less than 24 hours later.

I say we discuss what he actually says he stands for, not some twisted guess.

Obama has stated SEVERAL TIMES that he wants a single payer system. It doesn't matter what he said LAST NIGHT. He previously has stated that single payer is the end game, but that they won't be able to get it all at once.

    Lie?

Did I link to a portion of last night's speech? Did I claim that he said anything about a single payer system last night? Did I even mention last night? NO to all 3.

What I did, was link you to Obama philosophically outlining beliefs about health care to a open audience in 2005 and his believe that a single-payer system was optimal. He also stated that he could not immediately go from employer based to single payer at one and that it would have to be done incrementally. This health care plan is an increment to introduce the public option as a precursor to a single-payer system.

Lets try it again for the slow folks.

    Socialist say's

...... and I provided you with a clip of Obama talking about his desire to have as an end game, a single payer system.

How that that remotely justify your attack and accusation:

    .

    :confused2: It doesn't

That's why its a complete waste to even talk to you two: You bring nothing to the table except baseless accusations and no facts.

So he's compromised his position from single payer to what was presented last night. I notice no interest in movement by Republicans. Apparently a bipartisan bill will only come if Obama meets them all the way?

No, he hasn't compromised anything. Listen to the quotes he's given...he's doing exactly what he's said he'd do. Single payer is the endgame, but the way to get there is with these small steps.

Get your head out of the sand.

The way to get there is to get the people of this nation to go along and at this point that isn't going to happen. Maybe in some future time if the populace changes dramatically we'll end up with an actual socialized medical system like England; but for now that's just a fantasy. We have a problem to solve. As I see it saying "NO NO NO! Don't do anything or we'll end up like the USSR!!" isn't going to solve anything.

No, silly. A bipartisan bill will only occur when Obama agrees to simply meet with them.

This president has refused to meet with members of congress who have alternative ideas, yet he has had the audacity of claiming they have no healthcare plans of their own.

Most Americans certainly don't want to have a England-style government-run healthcare system. Who would want to introduce that disaster to this country? Doing nothing is better than that.

There have been a number of good ideas directed at fixing our current healthcare problems, of course the president won't even consider them for debate.

Not sure what you are talking about with the "NO NO NO" and USSR, but doesn't sound factual anyway.

I'm sorry, but turning our healthcare system upside down so that less than 10% of our population will have insurance seems to be a little silly to me. A much better idea would be to implement tort reform, allow people to go across state lines to purchase insurance, and other things in order to bring the cost of insurance down. As I see it saying "WE HAVE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING so we can end up like ENGLAND!" doesn't solve anything, it just gives us an inferior health system. People aren't dying in the U.S. because they can't get care. It's called the emergency room. Granted, you may get handed a bill when you leave, but, you'll have gotten the care necessary to live.
