Those Pats fans that know this will not be a cakewalk this message is not for you just the ones that have forgotten how tough it is to win in South Florida besides it was tough to beat Miami at home this year.

Look at the trend above that shows the SAME winning trends - From 90 season to 94 season Miami won 5 straight -THEN THE TEAMS FLIPFLOPPED - in 95 NE won - 96 Mia won - 97 NE won THEN WON AGAIN in 98 - The same type of streak emerges again - From 98 season to 02 season Miami won 5 straight-THEN THE TEAMS FLIPFLOPPED - in 03 NE won -04 Miami won - 05 NE won - If this unbelievable similar trend goes on and its hard to overlook the similar trend, then that means WE WIN SUNDAY!

It seemed the Patriots lost their focus against the Detroit Lions.

It's never easy in the NFL to go 14-2 or 13-3, so after the huge effort in the Chicago game (as sloppy as it may have appeared), I am not surprised by the let-down against the Lions. To stay supremely focused for 17+ weeks is not as easy as it may seem, not when so many teams put a circle around their date with you.

Apparently BB and Maroney see it as a cakewalk tomorrow. Maroney isn't even going to bother to suit up.

Looks like tomorrow just got a lot harder for all of us. CJ being out is no big deal, but we need LoMo and to some extent Ryan O'C... at least Brady gets to pad his stat further tomorrow.

There is no doubt we are clearly a better team than Miami. There is no doubt we shouod win the game.
There is a lot of doubt that the game and score will be some sort statement about how much better we are than Miami, or what kind of algorythm you could create to show how this score translates to what we will do in any other game.
The job is to win. If its 3-0 or 73-72, the job is to win.

This could be one of the toughest games to win we have all year. Our track record playing in Miami regardless of the quality of either team it is hard to win there.

What we will see tomorrow is some or all of the following:

1) Our offense, which is paid to move the ball and score points, will face their defense, which is paid to stop us from doing that. Our offense will succeed some times and their defense will succeed some times. We will move the ball, they will make plays to stifle drives. Overall, we should have an offensive day that is above average (20 points or more) and they will have a defensive day that is below average (20 points or more)
2) Joey Harrington will have some fleeting success throwing the ball. Why? Because we play a defensive style that will give him plays if he reads it right and makes good throws, but will cause him to fail miserably when he doesnt not read it right or makes a poor throw. The successes he has will be because on those plays, he did a good job, but the defensive philospophy is that if the game depends on him reading our coverage right and making good throws, he will fail to do that enough that we cannot lose.
3) Whether the game is close or not going to the 4th quarter will depend on turnovers and red zone performance. We may be in a very close game.
4) If the game is close in the 4th quarter, we will win, because first, the highest quality of the talent level on this team is its ability to finish a game and make plays when the game is on the line, and secondly, through the first 3 quarters of the game our gameplan will have positioned us to set up what we need to do in the 4th quarter to win. (for example we may be very run heavy all day, and be in a tight game, then in the 4th quarter when we throw Brady will have more time than he would have, and receivers will see coverages that were set up by the run heavy gameplan) (defensively, the passes Harrington completed will now be into a disguised coverage he is misreading and throwing into like he did earlier in the day, but the decision will now be wrong)
This is the aspect of our success that many fans seem to overlook, but many analysts have converted into the comment that this coa

ching staff is the best gameplanning staff in the NFL.

Of course it won't be a cakewalk.....that is just common sense. They always play us tough in Miami......Maroney is out for us.....Brown for them.........I would look for NE to win by 10 points that ;s one predivvvv

I actually think we have a pretty easy time of it tomorrow. Our "D" is playing at a very high level and Brady will finally have a great day in the sun down there.

Enjoy this one folks....

i haven't seen too manyBi posts out here suggesting that it IS a cakewalk. i think most people realize that Miami is always dangerous, especially down there and with Saban as Coach

Yes, history is a factor which encourages restraint.

Against most other teams of comparable quality this would be forecast as a big win. But in general posts on this forum often follow the following rule:

1. If we won big last week, we'll blow them out this week unless they are really really good.
2. If we lost last week, we will squeak by this week or if the opponent is actually decent we'll lose.

Andy in another (infamous) post called the effect manic-depressive.

I read Maroney got a pretty good whack to the head last week. Didn't see the play, though.

Predicting a W, also predicting the Pats will look like they are playing better this week, the intangibles make this close, but Brady will have a better game than he usually has and look for some innovation on offense.. with our D banged up, we may go to the short pass game to keep them on the field. Not that I fear Harrington, but our D is so short right now, best to keep them fresh.

Is any week in the NFL a cake walk? I think last week proved that.

All our division games are usually knife fights - even when the opposing coaches were Hermie, Wannstedt, and Mularkey.

I see it as being a competitive game, but the Pats are too much for Miami on both sides of the ball.

Lets keep everyone healthy !

Vinnie was upset with Maroney dancing his way into the hole and smacked him upside the head - unfortunately he used a lineman slap and not a RB slap, so Maroney had to be taken out of the game and treated for severe head trauma. Vinnie plans to use Russ Hochstein in Maroney's place to demonstrate how his superior play calling off of the NEM 3x5 card of plays across the middle will still lead the Patriots to success with an OG carrying the rock.

You were wrong. Today was, in fact, a cakewalk.
