Tom Brady to be a DADDY!

Also demonstrates the hypocrisy of "christians". All the baloney about being Catholic and meeting the pope while not adhering to the important principles of the religion.

Yeah and Baptists aren't supposed to swim, dance, drink, or go to the movies on Sundays.

Does anyone still follow these archaic rules?

Well.. um. I'll get back to you.

...
....

My father's side of the family have sinned since they went to the movies today.

Eternal damnation for all!

Incredibly irresponsible on both their parts, to be so careless knowing full well that they were having "relationship problems". They're too focused on their careers to stay together but it's okay to have a child outside of the relationship. They've just condemned that child, before birth, to a home without both its biological parents. Irresponsible and selfish and I'm surprised by this because they both seemed to be sensible people. Also demonstrates the hypocrisy of "christians". All the baloney about being Catholic and meeting the pope while not adhering to the important principles of the religion. At least we can now end this silly talk about Brady entering politics after he's done with football. This also makes him much more tradable should his skills continue to decline this season.

Um, clearly, it was an "accident." And they did do the Christian thing (well, at least, th Catholic thing) they are keeping the baby.

Man, it's too easy for people to judge others these days.

Or are you saying that, because they're Christians, they shouldn't be having pre-marital sex?

But, wow. I always kind of thought Tom might go into politics after his career - not sure how this would affect that.

Don't want this to devolve further into a political thread, but you might want to bring this up on the political forum. All I'll say here is that this alone wouldn't cost him MY vote. :)

Gotta feel a little bad for Bridget. She's having his baby, and he's going around with a supermodel. Hey, now he and Matt Leinart have something to talk about when they meet!

God, I really need more football related offseason news.

Well, that's the difference between Brady and Leinhart. Brady splits with his ex and dates the world's top supermodel. Leinhart splits with his ex and dates the world's top superslut. Granted, that superslut is filthy rich. But somehow I doubt all the money in the world is enough to endure well circulated night vision porn movies of your wife.

I heard it on MSN and then searched the web and that article from the NY Post came up quickly.

Damned that chick. No wonder he wanted out. TRAP!
Yeah. He should be able to fxxx anyone he wants and not worry about any children who might come along.

This is a real problem for Tom, and certainly will not help his aspirations to a political career.

If you haven't yet made PF's acquaintance, he's basically just taking advantage of a welcome opportunity in the offseason to say this is further proof of his Brady is slipping theory, which btw constitutes the majority of his football related posts on this forum since he recently joined us - although on the political forum he appears to be far more socially liberal than this post would indicate. ;)

It's highly unlikely it was an accident - more than likely protection wasn't used by both or one of the parties involved.

was it hard to "judge" people 20 years ago?

I don't care what they do as Christians. I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of Christians, like Brady, who make a big deal about the importance of their faith yet fail to uphold the important principles of that faith. I can at least respect Muslims and Jews who actually adhere to the principles of their faith rather than believing that running to church every Sunday and blabbing when cameras are around, about the importance of their faith in their upbringing makes them devout.

Wow, so because he made a mistake all Christian's are hypocrites? Let me tell you something, you can not label a group because of one idiot. How would you like it if the Patriots were labeled a bunch of selfish pricks because of Branch? Also, is Christianity the only religion with hypocrites? I was unaware that all Buddhists, Mormons, and Hindus adhered 100% to the principles of their respective religion. It's a lot easier to be a hypocrite when you have guidelines that dictate your life, I'm not saying that atheists don't have these guidelines, because I'm sure most have some sort moral principals they follow, but when you are religious and people see you and label you as a Christian, or Buddhist, or whatever, they automatically think about the "rules" that accompany these religions which is why it is a lot easier to find a hypocrite who is part of an organized religion.

Well perhaps instead of the Pub this should be moved to the lighthearted religious discussion forum.

He had unprotected sex, outside of marriage - that's not a mistake, it's a CHOICE. Obviously, I didn't mean EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN, but the vast majority of Christians are hypocrites. Always ranting and yapping about God and the Bible, yet they adhere to NONE of the important principles of Christianity. I respect people who actually act in a manner consistent with their claims. Hindus, Jews, Mormons and Muslims adhere to their faith in far greater numbers than do Christians and more importantly, do not claim to be devout or that their faith is important when they are NOT adhering to the principles of that faith. Brady is always yapping about his faith and how important it is to him - no one assigned it to him. Anyway, this is actually a good thing as it tarnishes Brady's rep. (as has his choking the last two years) and gives Belichick much greater flexibility in dealing with Brady's on field performance. So there's a sliver lining in this cloud of embarrassment for the Patriots.

I don't believe a single faction of the Judeo-Christian world, or Muslim for that matter, condones premarital sex. Some of them may look the other way, but that's about it.

I don't want to take this into too much of a political or theological direction, but whether or not you believe that the bible is the inerrent and literal word of God, there is good logic behind many of its taboos, and the case in point is a perfect example.

When did Brady say that he considers himself a devout Christian? Ever heard of lapsed Catholics?

He probably went to see the Pope out of respect like even a non-religious person would.

Is this Drew Bledsoe?

Were you there? You make statements which you believe are facts, but you have no knowledge of the situation. Right off the bat, you have no credibility. They were a couple for a good period of time. I would tend to believe that they took measures to prevent pregnancy. That would be a good guess, not that I actually care. You then truley reveal yourself as a troll as you trash Brady and BB. As a Christian and true Patriot fan, **** you.

Er, OK.

Anyway, I don't know, Brady can always fire back with "adulterer." Let's face it, our Patriots are a group of sinners. Oh, the shame.

I don't see the big deal about this. Hope for a healthy baby without any complications and be done with it.

Free Agency needs to come about... and FAST.

"the vast majority of Christians are hypocrites".....please......get a grip on yourself. If you have serious issues with religion please take your personal problems to the appropriate forum. This isn't it. Go troll somewhere else.

As it is......you sound like a freaking idiot.

Don't know if anybody has brought this up yet - does this sound like some classic revenge tactic from Brady's (possibly scorned) ex? It just adds up IMO. This actress isn't making waves in the movie/TV biz, so why not call a little attention to herself while tarnishing Brady's reputation? The guy just ditched her for someone much younger/hotter (i.e. upgraded).

Brady could in fact be the father and this could have been kept under wraps if Bridget truly respected Tom. Why is the publicist making official press releases but requesting for "privacy"?

Either way Tom is going to be asked questions and he will have to provide the answers. This won't hurt his performance on the field though or terribly tarnish his reputation - I even forgot that Lienart was in the exact same situation last year.
