Two significant stories out of conservative hotbeds. (1) Jake Knotts | Haley Raghead | South Carolina Raghead | Mediaite First, Knotts called Haley (a Christian who is of Sikh descent) a ‚Äúf**king raghead.‚ÄĚ When the stunned hosts of the show, Senate Republican Caucus political director Wesley Donehue and Senate Democratic Caucus political director Phil Bailey, asked him to clarify, he apologized‚Ķfor using the F word. ... ‚ÄėWe got a raghead in Washington; we don‚Äôt need one in South Carolina,‚Äô (State Senator) Knotts said more than once. ‚ÄėShe‚Äôs a raghead that‚Äôs ashamed of her religion trying to hid it behind being Methodist for political reasons.‚Äô‚ÄĚ ... ‚ÄėWe need a good Christian to be our governor,‚Äô he said. ‚ÄėShe‚Äôs hiding her religion. She ought to be proud of it. I‚Äôm proud of my god.‚Äô (2) Altered mural fuels racial debate in Prescott (Arizona) A group of artists has been asked to lighten the faces of children depicted in a giant public mural at a Prescott school. The project's leader says he was ordered to lighten the skin tone after complaints about the children's ethnicity. But the school's principal says the request was only to fix shading and had nothing to do with political pressure.
