In a hypothetical world, what would happen on a team that was extremely talented across all football units but had two coordinators with zero NFL experience before joining the team?

One might say that by sheer virtue of its talent, the offense and defense would be in the top portion of the league in points scored and points-given-up.

Dig a little deeper though, and one would find troubling statistics pertaining to red zone defense, red zone offense, and road game performance. Most troubling of all would be that the team performs spectacularly in the start of games, but as the game goes on clearly gets stopped, cannot adjust, and ends up with poor 2nd half performances.

This is what the Patriots are right now. The Patriots are 7-5. They are what they are - an extremely talented team across all units, with an elite head coach who develops great game plans going into games, with pathetic college-grade coordinators. This team makes mediocre QB's look great, and also can only average 3 points a game in the 2nd half of its losses (0-5 on the road).

If both coordinators were fired right now, both would either be unable to find equal-level positions in the NFL, or would fail at the same job with other teams.

You were banned. Why do you insist on coming back under a different name and behaving in this manner?

Welcome back mav

Even in the thread below started by the forum creator, the vast majority say it is coaching-related. The 2nd most cited reason, voted by the members here, is putting blame on the offense, not the defense.

Off topic, but if "Deus Irae" is considered an "All Pro" poster around here, then maybe PatriotsPlanet is more of a place where intelligent discussion takes place...
