Here we go again. Police closed down a girls lemonade stand because it did not have the proper permit. Then, cited what could go wrong (we don't know how it was made, who made it, etc.) I understand that part of the equation, as I deal with those issues all the tme. Problem with that explanation, if they got the permit ($50), they would still have those issues, and would not have been shut down. In addition, that reasoning goes to every bake sale or fundraiser that involves food not done in an institutional kitchen with a certified individual, permit or no permit. Thus, we are back to they shut down a girl's lemondade stand for what? Because they didn't pay the town $50. Send those cops a Fitzy T-shirt.

I bet they had their little blue lights on and were standing with their legs spread and their thumbs hooked in their gun belts, when they cracked this case.

Midway has just over 1,000 residents. How is that a City? Seems to me the local cops have nothing better to do.

Not really as the coppers didn't get a conviction.

They don't have better things to do as local cops are useless. If it was up to me I would get rid of all local cops and put the State Cops in charge.

There are 351* towns and City's in Massachusetts. All 351 have a Police Chief and patrolmen.

Why can't the Staties take care of the State?

*Not sure if the total number is 351 but I think I'm pretty close.

By that logic, why even have state cops? Let's have federal cops to patrol us all.

No. That's not what he said.

    Cops are cops.

He asked why we needed local cops because instead we can just have state cops. How is the logical next question not: why do we need state cops when we can have federal cops?
