Thread on Broncos Message Board

elway is starting to remind me of danny ainge

never seen the wheels fly off faster than the broncos....good chance they will be down there with the raiders next year. suddenly, returning to denver is not nearly as appealing to all those free agents

as for manning, it's what happens when you get old......you wake up one day and nothing works.
Yeah, but unfortunately for him there is no such thing as arm viagra.

I didn't read the whole thread, but they were missing a key component in their analysis. It is very difficult to eliminate the short throws when they are fast balls with zip. It is Manning's lack of velocity and zip that are making it easy to take away the short game.

This...I did read the whole thread and pretty much everyone was missing the point. The overwhelming majority are blaming the loss on coaching, not adjusting to what the defense is doing and giving Manning a chance to succeed.

They DID adjust to shorter throws in the second half, Manning was either off target or had no zip on the pass, giving the defense time to cover and either break the pass up or make a quick tackle. It's what makes Brady so, so deadly on those plays, he gets the ball in the receivers hands quick, and usually right where it needs to be for the receiver to make a quick move, avoiding the man covering him.

Those fans are gonna be in for a big surprise, and a lot of disappointment, if they think new coaches and schemes will allow Manning to succeed when presented with this kind defense.

At least they figured out quickly that postseason Manning is not regular season Manning. Colts fans were having trouble coming to terms with that fact as late as 2010. Hell, some of them still haven't come to terms with that fact.

I'm not a Pay-A-Ton fan by any stretch, but with a quad injury wouldn't that affect accuracy?

Word is he was playing hurt.

Of course a pain killer might mitigate that somewhat, but I'm no doctor.

He won't retire with Brady still playing...JMHO

one thread i don't see......Ware contract. Giving a guy that old that much $$ wasn't a good decision and in the biggest game of the year he looked his age big time.

skip bayless ( patriot prophet/homer ) before the season skip kept saying that Ware was done, and he's right. he had 8 sacks in the first 7-8 games only two after. and many were just coverage sacks...
demarcus " where " as in where have you been.:D

Pretty much everyone here knew that the marriage between Elway and Manning was not going to end well. The only reason Manning even has one Super Bowl ring is that the Patriots were dropping like flies because the flu had run through the locker room just a few days before, and even then he barely managed to beat them.

Not to mention that bogus face guarding and roughing the passer calls.

This broncos thread link is a gateway to hell, don't go in there.

Good thing we got TFB and his never ending easy throws.
Yeah, what was with that? TB is probably in the lower half of the league in terms of receivers 10+yards downfield that are wide open.
