Right now fox, sorry not able to caption it, has the headline of "A King's Farewell".. "Tears for Michael Jackson"... A whole bunch of crap about Michael.. then on the side there is another smaller headline, captioned "What about our boys".. referring to the soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan..

The news has all morphed together, lemings and whores the whole bunch of them

Oh, you should have seen the orgy on CNN!!! You'd think Christ had returned and died while prepping for a 50-concert gig (to pay off hundreds of millions in debts due to .... ahem..... "unforseen circumstances ...." (ahem). On CNN you will never see such a collection of single men and single women -- all curiously in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. Guess marriage is not hip enough for that "king"'s brothers and sisters. Oh, and "the king"'s former wife -- you know, the mother of his children Michael, Paris, and Basket ("Basket"???? :wha: ) -- was no where to be seen; if she was there the cameras never made mention, nor of course did she speak (she's famously cut out of his will, 100%). Very curious "family" relations. But Michael "loves everybody" (be sure to buy his music; those debts, you know). Jermaine looked like he was going to float right out of the building. Janet had <no> wardrobe malfunctions.

Looked like a re-run of Dallas, but with a little beat.

    Yep,
    CNN:
'The best father you could ever imagine'

    MSNBC:
Tears and laughter at Jackson’s memorial service

Even Palin bashing is taking a temporary back seat. But, look on the bright side. We get to see the new media obsession 7 years from now Paris Katherine.

the biggest story is what the the general public wants to read........

just goes to show you what an ignorant society the US has devolved into.......

the libbies are getting their way.......the dumber the general public gets, the more they need the federal government

In your haste to bash, was pointing out that on Fox News MJ was the lead story, the second story and the third story was about how the media was ignoring the soldiers who were killed in Iraq.. just the irony of it all.. not praising anyone, just showing how all the news morphs into something very weird..

CNN, MSNBC and the rest are no better... but there was a lot of irony on the front page of Fox News...

No haste, no bash. Just agreeing with you. And as you can see every media outlet has MJ as the lead story, the second story and ...

Fox is back to regular programming; MSNBC still covering The Freak.

If you actually thought for once you'd realize Fox HAS TO cover The Freak or they'd be called racist.

You are right there was no irony on the web page, partisan or not it was a very interesting contrast from the newschannel that usually beats the hell out of this stuff... sure Bill and Sean will be saying all their tearful goodbyes this afternoon.. somehow more important news always gets missed... guess I expected more from Fox News.. sometimes their love/hate relationship with the left coast gets confusing.

Well after the commercial you can choose :

    MSNBC - The Freak
Fox News - Discussion of why we import natural gas when we're sitting on a century's worth.

Your pick. I'll take Fox News, thanks.

You get so caught up in the partisanship, you missed the point that there was a story about how the MJ news overshadowed the soldiers who were killed in the US.. and the headlines were al about MJ.. it really was not about partisanship.. know you want to believe it, but it was not.

The memorial today may have been over the top with the media but it was tastefully done really. Regardless of their personal life we form an attachment to our stars ... not sure it will change anytime soon.

So let's say we see a "We Are the World II" out of this ... that would be a good thing. If today's service spurs a few people to do a few great things that would be a great tribute to MJ's life ... however weird it was.

Last I heard aids and hunger are still huge issues in Africa.

Riiiiiight. Coming from Mr. Partisan. Fox hasn't had that much Freak coverage; again, they had to cover it or they'd be racist

I don't care what you're talking about, Fox News is Fox News, the website and the TV channel are all connected and Fox News has had a lot less Freak coverage than most/all the others.

So now we're harassing the Jackson family because they haven't all gotten married? Also, Debbie Rowe was the mother of Michael and Paris, but not the mother of Prince (nicknamed Blanket). Rowe gave up her custody claim to the children long ago, and has been seemingly perfectly content to not be involved in their lives. Blanket was born via anonymous surrogate. Rowe personally chose not to attend the memorial because she has tried very hard to stay out of the limelight since her divorce from Michael and she didn't want to be a distraction.

There's no doubt that the Jackson family isn't normal, and that MJ wasn't either, but it was very clear at the memorial that they were simply a family grieving the loss of a son, brother and father.
