Might as well get everybody on record.

I wish not sure was an option.

LOL you are correct.

I can't edit it now, oh well this way people are forced to take their best guess. I knew I'd miss a good option.

I went with long term deal. I think something will get done with him. I just don't know what.

Trade for 1st rounder but :( :(

I voted trade for a #1 plus...

Not what I want or hope for, but it is what makes the most sense and what I expect. 15 mil signing bonus? 10 mil per year? Not here. Not in this lifetime. Or at least as long as BB/SP are here. Now, if Asante's market value falls to the 8-9 mil bonus and 7 mil salary range, something will get done. But I find that highly unlikely, especially this year.

I don't see the Patriots having Asante as the 2nd TOP Cap Hit on the roster even for one season. I voted they'll trade him for a 1st rounder and another from a later round. 1st and 2nd ideally, but probably a first and third rounder. Also I see a deal with Nate Clements unlikely although the Patriots may approach him. I see the Patriots trying to fill all their holes with good players I just don't see them accepting a 7.8m cap hit even at CB.

I don't think the fact that the team can afford such hits changes their position on big money with one season wonders.

Pretty interesting results so far, not the breakdown I would have predicted.

I wish not sure was an option.

Good one. I kind of wish "It all depends on..." was an option.

But, I think it does depend on whether the pats stick to their guns. If they didn't cave to give TB a few more years with Deion Branch (and, incidentally, a very good chance to win SB XLI), then I can't seem them caving to Asante.

So, I think they trade him while he's tagged to keep him away from the Jets and get something in return. I think they'll make the first good deal they see. I think the best they get is a first round pick and maybe, maybe, a three or a four with it. I wouldn't try to guess at the timing tho.
