brrrrr......just got back home....soggy, frozen, aching and drained.

what a day....Maroney showed his worth today.I'm surprised there weren't dozens of fumbles. I have no idea what the topics were today on these threads but THAT was a very GOOD win by a very well coached, veteran team.

Coffee, soup and couch time. Any of the other psychopaths who braved today's weather, please check in....how about those nitwits throwing ice balls??....pi$$ed me off to the max.

Yes, a little perspective is needed around here.

We won an ugly game. That is ALWAYS a good thing.

I still want Brady to get the TD record, but mainly because Manning is such a horse's ass.

Next week we'll get 'em! :D

Was there, stood at the very top of the stadium right above the Gillette sign, quite the cold, wet event but it was very much worth it.

It sounds brutal. Joker, how bad was the wind? What else can you tell those of us who watched it on our couch (with a cranky, screaming one year old, so it wasn't all roses and hot chocolate).

I called it the "HypoThermia Bowl".

had to be more than a few in stage 1 htpo today ... easily.

Cold is one thing but cold rain is the worst of them all. It lowers your body temperature quickly and all your muscles go below 100% as the brain reduces the oxygen to them and saves it for itself.

Congrats on surviving Joker!!! I give you props....that looked like ONE TOUGH game to sit through weather wise.........Maroney and the OL run blocking were great today.......defense was great as well from all reports........And yes........those throwing snowballs should be ashamed.....they were lucky not to have caused a penalty on behalf of the Pats.....(I was at Gillette one game......and a penalty was assessed ....(forget who they were playing) )

Those clowns weren't throwing snowballs, they were throwing ICE balls...security is pretty dyam good at the Razor...they can zero in on individual seats and remove the d!ckheads.

Re: The "We Survived The Snow, Sleet, Rain, Ice and Wind Bowl"..

Just got back myself. My 6 year old had the time of his life throwing the snow in the air. Did they show the full sized rat on TV in the Curtis Martin shirt ? He was sitting in 133 and even though he was a Pat fan making a joke he was pelted repeatedly. Some of the Jets coaches and players in front of us got drilled too. The security were zeroing in on them and taking them out. The biggest negative is the MBTA. The Patriots train sucks. It was a mob scene in South Station. Instead of selling tickets on board they were trying to make everyone buy tickets from one booth. I kid you not the line went all the way around South Station from one side to the other. They finally realized they would be an hour selling tickets and 11 o'clock was approaching so they told everyone to board the train. It turned into a stampede to the trains. I was literally dragging my son to keep from getting trampled. The train was so packed they never stopped at Back Bay ,Dedham or Norwood. I understand a second train did pick them up but they must have been late to the game. It's not like this storm snuck up on them. They were totally unprepared. After the game instead of leaving 1/2 hour after the game ended they sat there over an hour. People were getting testy and I almost saw a couple of fights over people not sliding in to let others sit down. Funniest sight was some clown in a Bruschi shirt trying to circumvent the path from the train to Gillette through the woods and falling and getting scratched in briars as "BROO-SKI !"chants were shouted at him. It's been a long day but a memorable one.

I was there too. Me, my GF and her brother. Her other brother and dad couldn't make this one. Me and the GF sit 2 rows from the top but figured we'd sit with her brother since the other 2 seats were empty. Thing is, they sit 6 rows in front of us right under the light. The rain and ice coming off them was crazy so we went up to our seats.
Tailgating wasn't bad. Had the tent and heater. Did pancakes and sausage. The tent did try to take off once, but we secured it better and were all set.
Wasn't that cold until the rain stopped and it was just mist and rain. I don't know what it is about friggin hand warmers though. Opened them in the lot and put them in my pockets. I felt them burning a hole in my pocket just about the time we were walking down the ramps after the game.
One thing that sucked was the stairs. They weren't shoveled. I understand that they had to do the ramps and walkways though. The only reason it stunk for me is I have really bad osteoarthritis in my hips, so my legs don't move that well (and I'm only 37 WTF!). I was ready to sit on the stairs and slide down on my butt. :D I ended up holding onto the railing for dear life and walking down backwards.
Was a great time as always though! Bring on Miami!!! I heard there's a chance of a storm Friday night though. Maybe next week I WILL slide down the stairs. :D :rocker:

Re: The "We Survived The Snow, Sleet, Rain, Ice and Wind Bowl"..

Crowpointer you must have been right next to us on the trains. We were walking when Bruschi stormed off into the woods and then hit the water and started angling back towards the long line of people trudging in. It looked like he was making some kind of civil war military maneuver.

We flew in from Tampa to go to the game and got more than we bargained for. That Patriots train was an absolute clusterfuk! When we were walking in from the train someone behind me said it was like a death march. The scene in South Station was a mess, why don't they let people buy tickets at the kiosks or online? The whole scene of getting on and off the trains looked like something out of a World War II movie.

Then going home was an even bigger mess. And was it just me or did it seem like the engineer was hammered? Someone went over the loudspeaker and said "Welcome citizens of Gloucester" and "The Patrots rule the wasteland". Then we sat there for like 20 minutes while they switched the direction of the train.

If they want people to use that commuter rail they need to get their act together. Build a real station with a platform and run multiple trains that leave at different times. And I don't care that a lot more people than usual showed up, thats the whole point of having the train, for bad weather. All morning on TV they tell people to ride the commuter rail, people do and are treated to that half assed production. It was a disgrace.

I haven't lived in Boston for 4 years, I forgot how much the MBTA sucks ass.

I've got some pics that I'll post tomorrow. Some people in the last 300 section on the Jets side used snow to put messages on the concrete wall at the very top. Someone spelled out "Mangina." It was hilarious.

Just like yesterday, they said the lots would open at 8. We always get there when the gates open, so we left extra early and got there about 8:30 and the lots weren't open. Hell the lights on RT 1 near the stadium were still working instead of blinking like they usually do. So we ended up circling around RT 140 twice then ended up in P7. Not bad, we usually are in P8, so we actually got a little closer than usual.

Re-sold my fifty yard line, 24th row seats. And moved up to club w some pals. They have back row in club, which is actually dry - its under the overhang. Damn that was much better than sitting in the rain all day.

Kinda weak i know, but it was worth it today.
And im 46, so eff it anyway. LOL

Woulda been nice to be in the 100s on a decent snow day tho.
Hung out in the club after for an hour, still the traffice was pretty bad.

ALL WORTH IT!!! Great Experience and Fun :rocker:

Re: The "We Survived The Snow, Sleet, Rain, Ice and Wind Bowl"..

your post and a few others confirmed what i thought watching from the comfort of my living room...the conditions were god awful and we can call this a very good win...the conditions don't have to be "arctic" to create an almost impossible situation...combine cold enough temps with winds and sleet and rain and anything can happen...that the patriots controlled large parts of this game is a tribute to how good they really are...hats off to the D and, especially, to Maroney who, I hope, shut a lot of folks up today.

get warm. hope you don't get a cold or the flu as a reward for hanging in there through a great effort.

    Joker, et al,
The crowd sounded good and loud on the radio, despite conditions. At a couple times you could here there were some big time chants going on, but w/ Gil and Gino yakking I was never able to understand what the chant was. What were folks yelling?
    Thanks
