So which 53 make the squad??

Give me a min and I'll do mine, just wanted to get it up before I forgot.

Italics signifies that I think the player will make the squad, but it is also very possible that he won't, and is thus a borderline player.

Garrett Mills will make this team!

No Pierre Woods. Interesting.

Yeah, it's way early, but I'm eager to get this season started.

My comments:

QBs - I believe they'll go with a third this season.

RBs - Replace Justise Hairston with Garrett Mills. I know Mills is a TE, but we'll call him an HB. If healthy, this guy will excel in this now wide-open offense.

WRs - Troy Brown will either open the season on PUP or replace Gaffney. Chad Jackson will either open the season on PUP or replace Gaffney. Either way, Gaffney is the odd man out in my mind, unless they move Caldwell before the season.

LBs - change number to (8) and add Pierre Woods.

CBs - reduce number to (5) and cut Eddie Jackson. The reason they can do this is that Wilson & Meriweather represent CB/S swingmen.

I agree with the rest. Who will be sacrificed with the addition of a 3rd QB remains to be seen, and I'm sure we'll be posting adjustments to this roster for quite some time.

I won't go so far as to pick the whole roster, but I am betting that Kelly Washington does NOT make the team. Too often injured to stay on the field.

Also CJ will start on PUP and subsequently pop his hammy getting out of his car and be placed on IR starting week 5.

I think that's Dave's way of saying "are you f@#king kidding me" Like the time he got the Ohio State sweater vest for Christmas.

i will agree with that...also, i think Mills will be a FB

I forgot about Seau. Scratch Rogers and put him in. And I still have a feeling Brown will retire.

I'd rather try to ascertain the rebuilt PS. Gutierez QB; Oldenburg T, Hilliard T/G, Elgin C; Rogers OLB/DE; Lua ILB; Kight WR; Malone P.

Three new students for Dante; a third emergency QB; the obligatory DE/OLB conversion candidate; a spare ILB candidate; a WR; and a Punter backup for octogenarian Josh Miller.

Would it be too crazy to suggest that Troy Brown could be our #3 QB?

Serious, serious competition for the final roster spots. Anyone near the bottom of the depth pile better hope they can kick some butt on special teams or they are as good as gone.

These players are fighting for the final spots, I won't be surprised to see any of them cut loose. We will be cutting some good players (call them future Jets):
WR - Caldwell, Gaffney, Washington, Brown, Childress, Kight
OL - O'Callaghan, Yates, Kaczur, Oldenburg, Hilliard, Elgin
RB\FB - Hairston, Mills
TE - everyone except Brady, Watson and Thomas
DL - Wright, Thomas, Hill, Brown
LB - Woods, Mays, Rogers, Lua, Izzo
CB - James, Scott, Richardson, Spann
S - Mitchell, Andrews, Hawkins
P - Miller, Malone, the other guy

Toughest omissions in italics. Some of those guys should make it due to injury or other disappointments ahead of them.

24 on offense, 26 on defense.
