Why is Obama's certificate of live birth NOT a good evidence to support his claim? What is the problem?

You don't have to be born in Hawaii to have 'certificate of live birth'. Obama's original birth certificate is the only way to end this madness.

Why don’t you just say what you really want to say? I NEPatriot do not want a Black Man for President. Because it doesn’t matter what you post. It won’t make a difference. He is the next president of the United States Of America.

No wonder the Republicans were so soundly defeated. Our economy is the mess and they're engaged in ridiculous conspiracy theories that have already been debunked several times.

Obviously, even if Hawaii produced Obama's birth certificate (which they officially said they have and that Obama was born in Honolulu), the righties would continue with this. Their priorities are a mess. No wonder they were soundly rejected by the American people.

And it looks like they lost another Senate seat, this one in Alaska.

Newt Ginrich gave some sort interview today about the sad state of our society. Trying to appeal to the base in hopes of a nomination in 2012. Bravo Newt, and here's the ticket: Newt/Palin, you betcha.

It's a connundrum going forward. America is getting real out of necessity, but so many "conservatives" identify that word with denial of reality. They've been feeding each other a steady diet of this tripe for so long they don't get that it's nuts.... but they're doing it in large numbers.

So you have to wonder... is being the party that calls education "elitism" going to backfire? You can't win just being the Idiot Party when the fairy tale's happy ending is not around (i.e., when the material gravy train is not rolling.) Diversionary material toys are an opiate; they can easily lower an IQ by 50 points by way of pure denial. "Two plus two equals five and you get a jetski. Say it." "Two plus two is CHICKEN!" "Close enough."

But that drug's gone, and people are awake... and much smarter as a result. All except the hard core. But there are more of those than expected.

So, the Republican civil war simmers on: Are they a party that literates can inhabit without being hijacked by their own dittohead zombie constituency? How do they convince these guys that no, Angels aren't talking to them, a 4% change in a marginal rate isn't socialism, and yes, we're at the point where we need answers.... when their stock in trade is "HEY HE'S A MUSLIM FERNER!"?

And if they don't move forward, can they compete in a changing America, where rumor can be so easily checked and thwarted? Is that what is happening here?

This issue is pretty much a dead horse ... now that the election is over. Should a future candidate run for the Presidency who is not an American citizen they could possibly sue for the right to run ... a huge Constitutional crisis.

At the very least ... we need a better system for vetting candidates. The current method is simply not good enough. I can't sign my kids up to play sports without presenting a birth certificate yet someday when they are old enough they can run for President without presenting one ... that's messed up and the process needs to be cleaned up. Some day a real foreigner could be elected POTUS and don't think it won't become a major crisis .. all based on this year's election.

Excellent post! Nothing to add, just don't expect a lot of coherent, to-the-point rebuttals, though.

why do you guys keep responding to him? He's posted this same exact thread about six or seven times. He knows this is BS, but is enjoying getting people riled up. He's just trolling.

What does the word 'presenting' mean to you in the context of your sentence? He put it on his website months ago. Snopes has got it, Truthout has it, political fact check has it, the head of Hawaii's department of health has repeatedly gone on record saying that everything is in order and as the President-elect has claimed, yet you STILL deny. Is he gonna have to come to your house and stuff it down your throat?

You want him to prove he's a citizen? How 'bout you prove there's a standard he can meet that will satisfy you? I ask because I'm convinced at this point that there is no hoop he could jump through to make you happy. You just won't accept the fact that he won.

    You've missed my point here.

All I am saying is what is the application process for running for POTUS?

That's the point ... there really is no process worth anything.

To work for some government jobs you need to go through a process to get security clearance. things that can work against you are criminal record, past drug use, lying on an application. To run for President ... none of the above will disqualify you ... that's amazing.

I think Congress should fix this. Candidates for President should be forced to produce their BC, their background should be investigated ... stuff like that. The present system is ripe for a person becoming President who may really be an illegal alien, may have been a criminal, may have an alias ... etc...

That's the point here ... let's start with a BC, an application and some guidelines because right now we have nothing worth it's weight in salt as they say.

Also ... I have no problem that he won ... none at all. I have a problem with the process.
