The thing about Gronk's injury, this year.

Patriots with Rob Gronkowski on/off field in 2012 regular season

Stat---------------On------------Off
Comp. pct.--------65.7 ----------58.4
Yards per play-----6.0------------5.4
TD-INT-----------23-3-----------11-6

I suppose the analysis can be tempered by looking at the defenses of the teams played, but we don't make up for not having him.

We try, and some other things work, but it is still "making do with less"

Thanks for posting those numbers. I was sizing that up yesterday when I hit a slow period at work. Like I said, the only team in the playoffs left with the personnel that can really make his loss hurt is San Fran. That's why it would be nice if Atlanta can somehow knock them off this weekend.

On those passing TD/INT stats,

Passing TDs are I assume replaced with a bump in rushing TDs without Gronk, because there's no way that TD scoring overall was cut in half, is there?

It would be interesting to look at running game efficiency too. I bet our yards per run are down without him.

I think making do with less can beat the Ravens and (if they got there) the Falcons. The Niners? Tougher road to hoe for sure.

The Pats had him for more games than they didn't--that's the TD # issue.
