I cant help but think BB is truly playing the rope a dope with this draft. The more and more we hear is that we have all these late risers and the draft is weak etc..

Chandler Jones, Shea Mclelian, Ziegler. Bruce Irvin, etc

While Coples, Decastro, Upshaw and Kendall Wright are falling..

I cant help but think that BB loves all of this chatter out there with players who they supposdley love

Can't remember what I saw today that triggered this thought in my head, but I heard some report about the Pats "loving" some player, and I thought, "OK, now they're just screwing with people."

Let the misinformation rain down from above.

It's definitely something he and all coaches do, but is it BB causing this misinformation or just the media needing something different to talk about?

A ton of the risers have come from Mayock and Lombardi.....also the Pats supposdley love Trumaine Johnson?...I dont buy it..he is not a Patriot type player

The good thing for teams drafting at the bottom of round 1 is that in the weeks leading up to the draft, athletes rise while football players fall. That's why there will always be quality players at the end of round 1 and why its always the same teams making those picks.

Pats All Pros/studs include players that love weed, party with with porn stars, impregnate multiple women, chase Hooters girls...........Jenkins it is

Maybe BB wants people to think just that and it's actually a double bluff. So other teams will ignore those players because they think BB is trying to lull them into picking them, when in fact it's all a clever ruse.

Or maybe journalists have column inches to fill and figure that if they throw enough darts one of them will hit bullseye.

To be fair, though, it's generally an either/or with the Pats, not an "all of the above." :)

How is Johnson not a Patriots type player?

I'll take this one. Simple--he went to Montana. Belichick ALWAYS drafts guys from power conferences with their top picks.

Johnson has a lot of characteristics that are Pats-friendly (lots of starts, versatility, etc), but they have taken a total of 3 non-Division 1 players in the entire Belichick era, all in the 6th or 7th round--Markell Carter, at pick 194, is the highest non-Division 1 player they have drafted.

That's fairly compelling evidence that he will not be a New England Patriot. They probably wouldn't consider him until a point where someone else (Jacksonville, Green Bay, another team that has had success taking players from lower level schools) has already drafted him.
