Flacco can throw the ball? I seriously hope you'r not saying they are on the same level passing wise. He wasnt very good to day, but he can beat you by throwing. More so than Tebow anyway.

Truly, Flacco's a whole lot closer to Tebow's level than to even 2nd-tier franchise QB level.

Look at the offensive options he had on a typical play this season:
Ray Rice
Anquan Boldin
Torrey Smith
Ed ****son
Dennis Pitta
...with guys like Lee Evans and Rickey Williams to sub in. Plus he had a strong defense that created a ton of turnovers, giving him short fields to work with.

And with that setup, Flacco delivered a season about the equal of Tarvaris Jackson's in Seattle. He's not any good.

If Houston hadn't unraveled and made some uncharacteristic and stupid mistakes on ST, even with a 3rd string QB at the helm they'd have likely won that game in Baltimore. After his self absorbed little rant at the media the other day for being underappreciated, best mediot tweet I saw yesterday was that Joe claimed even it they won the media wouldn't credit it to him...and he was right. Because once again they win in spite of him. His WR's however earned their pay in limited duty.

Joe Flacco is a superior "QB" to Tim Tebow. Lets look at Flacco's situation a little...

Last year, Flacco had a very good year and has been a consistent QB in this league for 4 years now. In 2010, his QB rating around 94, threw for 25 TDs and around 3600yds, and completed 63% of his passes. He was in the top 10 in every statistical category.

In 2011, things changed...

-BAL started off with massive changes on the o-line.

-Derrick Mason, Todd Heap and TJ Housh all left the team. That accounted for 164 catches, 1799yds and 15 TDs. Dixon, Smith and Pitta made up for a statistical losses but but I'd argue that they are not better then the 2010 departures.

-Boldin is finally healthy

-Lee Evans has missed most of the season.

My point is that Flacco had some changes to deal with which hurt is productivity and confidence. He certainly is not and will never be a elite QB, but he can manage a game. Is that enough to beat the Pats? No.
