Telling NY and the Jets to fock off! and then going to their rivals and becoming wildly successful! Remember when he was their's and they thought they pulled such a fast one on Kraft, that it was a confirmation of their superioirity in every aspect of life! To have the opposite happen coupled with success beyond their dreams is more than NY can handle. They don't even have the Yankees to fall back on now!

How did BB end up paying?

Seems to me he left NYC with about a million dollars of some old mans money.

He's paying for it with this ridiculous inquisition. And I love the million dollar thing always brought up, the Jets used BB and paid for it. The charade they pulled by making him coach for a day with Parcells as advisor was what that was all about.

No, the sin he's paying for is not being Herm Edwards or Jack Del-Rio or Tony Dungy or any other coach that puckers up and kisses the media's butt. They've had an agenda against him for years and are now grasping at straws to try to bring him down. They're pissed that a walk-thru tape never existed and are doing everything in their power not to backtrack. I don't blame the Jets or the NY media for any of this. I do, however, blame the Jets for the holocaust.

Pretty interesting how the whole thing went down. BB was not happy about being a HC under Parcels thumb, even though Parcels was his mentor.

At any rate things worked out good for BB and the Pats, not so great for the Jets.

    :D

I spit my soda out when I read that!!! Classic!!!

I think there could be something to the NY Media's hatred of BB because of the way the Jets deal went down. He was the "heir apparent" and he walked out on them to take the NE job. I don't blame him, the Jets are the armpit of the league.

That's because Hess had all the documents destroyed before he passed on.

He didn't want the secret to get out.

Look, we all know the Patriots' rule breaking has been blown completely out of proportion, but as I stated the day after it happened, BB screwed the pooch on this one. I don't believe for a minute that he thought taping from the sideline was legal, especially after the memo. I believe he just thought "everyone does it, and if I get caught I'll just pretend I misinterpreted the rule - as it is worded ambiguously enough that I can make that claim."

Sorry Pats fans, but that's the truth. And don't call me disloyal - I've been a Pats fan since the beginning - 1960 - longer than most of you have been alive. And that truth pisses me off, because we're still having to answer questions about it and defend it, and yes, some people will always believe our Super Bowls are tainted. BB is a great coach, but he crossed the line and now he and the rest of us are all paying for it.

When he is not allowed to speak, he is crucified. The only stories you have heard are 1 sided and it is why you see Walsh,Specter, and other going around and telling everybody their 'real' story of what happened.

If BB speaks, this thing is over by now.

Goodell allows Walsh to speak to Specter and others but he doesn't let BB do the same thing. I would like to see Specter speaks to BB about spygate. It will be an interesting meeting.

Dude, coporate intelligence is as much a part of American business as R&D and advertising. Coke spies on Pepsi, Mcdonalds on BK, Ford on GM it's part of the process. That being said, BB did not invent this! He was part of the Parcells coaching tree, which spawned a good number of NFL coaches in various degrees of separation. You give BB too much credit. Eric Mangini can't even poop without thinking how BB would wipe his *****. You don't think he would do it? The guy who tried to steal stuff from the offices! Is he too moral? Give me a break. You don't think all of the teams that wqere trying to copy the Pats for the last 7 years wouldn't see that guy and say let's try that? Michael Holley said there's no morality in the sport just winning, and he's about as inside as one can get without being part of the team!

No, that's not what I think. I think BB was arrogant enough to do it in the open, and under the nose of someone whom he was feuding with (Mangini). It just wasn't smart.

Look, just because you're a Patriots fan doesn't mean you have to be a blindly loyal, kneejerk homer. I love my kids, but that doesn't mean I think they're always right. Same thing here.

Thanks for clearing that up. Who am I to actually have an opinion that differs from yours? But, anyway, thanks for letting me know the truth.

There is nothing arrogant to it if you don't work under the assumptions that you've accepted as the God Almighty truth.

Belichick doesn't owe you a damn thing, so quit it with your self-righteous indignation.

Damn, your last two posts were refreshing. At least you're able to look at things in a realistic manner. Something tells me you're a smart guy!

You've got to be kidding me. Belichick broke a rule that was in the Ops Manual. Not the NFL Rulebook... The friggin Ops Manual! The max fine for ops manual violations is something like $30,000. It's an insignificant rule that went unenforced for 20 years. At worst he probably thought he'd get hit with a small fine. But I doubt he even spent more than 5 minutes of his time thinking about it. Then along comes Nincompoop Wyatt Earp and whacks him with the biggest fine in NFL history. Why? Not because he stole signals... Not because he gained an advantage... but simply because he disobeyed a year old memo. Friggin ridiculous!!

Look at it this way. A guy runs a stop sign at 4:30 AM. The judge sentences him to life in prison. Who's more wrong?

First, as in most cases on the internet, my op was not properly translated(my bad). Regardless of whether you believe BB was the only one etc. the amount of vitriol that has been throw his way does not fit the crime. People like Promisedland have a perfectly valid right to their belief, yet the question whether this has been blown out of proportion compared to the transgression, and the reasons why have not adequately been addressed. We often get the stock answers of BB not giving the media access or it's just jealousy, but I believe it's deeper.

After just finishing a Philosophy class on Morality and Ethics, there were many
differing theories on moral standards, and how they should be judged. The cool thing about it was you could completely disagree with someone without them calling you a homer whose blindly loyal, often it was just a different viewpoint. This thing has been like a witch hunt, you may be right to say my son was wrong to smoke a joint in public so he should be punished for his arrogance.
But if 9 months later your son is being called a drug addict who possibly has ties to organized drug trafficking, you would neither be smart nor fair to think your son deserved that!
