1- Our adjustment is no good. We can't adjust to our opponents as quickly as we would like.
2-TB and his receivers are out of touch.
    3-Our running game is pathetic.
    4-Our D is a work in progress.

1- How do you know this?
2- Out of touch? Out of sync maybe. But not out of touch.
3 - The running game was fine yesterday. 4.2 YPC. Its a matter of staying committed to it..
4 - With 5 major players gone and a 6th out with injury, yes, its a work in progress. But its a work that has held opponents to 16 and 17 points. Remember, it was the offense who allowed 7 last week.

I wouldn't say the running game was fine,I hate the YPC stat because its a meaningless stat if you look at yesterday's game.

Maroney has like a 4.3 YPC as his career stats here,I hardly think that spells him for the HOF

In the red zone the Patriots tried the run and did not do well thus instead of the running game helping move the chains it failed which put more emphasis on Brady and the passing game and the OL, all failures yesterday.

If your running game is failing to produce important yards deep in opponents territory and the passing game is way out of sync, you are not winning many games my friend.

3rd and long have been successful by the opponents,us not so much....yet

I really don't care what the rushing attack faired in terms of YPC - It mainly counts when the team is driving inside the opponents 40 and yesterday it was an epic fail.

1)Lack of offensive coordinator is hurting this team.
2)If you were out of football for a year with a major injury you would be too.
3)Have to call them to have success
    4) If you thought this defense was going to post shutouts then you were smoking something funky. I am pleasanly happy with the way our defense has been playing. Expecially since the absence of Mayo for 113 minutes out of 120.I would like to see more blitzes, but that will come as the year progresses.

The running game has a 3.6 YPC average in only 43 attempts. A little low, but "pathetic" is something of an exaggeration. No huge runs (12 and 13 yards are the longest carries so far) and lots of short runs. If they break one 30 yard run at this point, it's right back to where they were last year.

Welker was out and they managed to put up 380 yards of offense with him in the game at Buffalo. Brady still seems a little off his game, but I expect he will progress as the weeks go by given his competitive nature and work ethic. There is no substitute for the actual season as far as getting him up to speed, so he will make that headway now. That will fix his touch and timing issues.

As far as adjustments, some of it is new personnel not entirely comfortable with the defense, the rest may be personnel a cut below those on the field last year. I am inclined to chalk most of it up to the addition of a bunch of new players. In the end, the defense should not be expected to hold teams to less than 2 TDs per game, and the defense has given up about 16 each week which is not too shabby.

Why did we not put any point on the board in the third and fourth quarter of Jets game?????

How about 07 SB game with Giants????

    Where was the 'adjustment'?????

What did he and his receivers do during the training camp???? Was it the time to get to know each other better????

    Marony sucks.
Who put us in that position in the first place? BB.
Seriously, you can't change 5 guys in 1 day and expect 5 new guys to step in. The problem with BB's future thought is the future is going to be there but are we going to have a good 'present'?

What kind of future are you going to have when you have a crappy present?

Ah, another crappy NEPatriot thread. Why don't you save the mods time and just start them in the Practice Squad?

I think the Patriots ceded the initiative to the Jets defense somewhat. Instead of spreading out the Jets with 4 or 5 WRs they stayed in max protection a lot making Faulk and the TEs into blockers. The lack of adjustments reminded me of Bledsoe running the Zampese offense when the WRs were covered. Certainly Brady will get better timing with his WRs particularly Galloway as the season goes on. Brady usually has a goto guy on blitzes such as Welker and in the past Branch/Troy Brown. Welker was really missed. They could have run the ball more but penalties were a big problem.
I think the defense played well overall and Belichick will get more agressive as he gains confidence in the secondary.

Who put us in this situation??? BB. Why did he not keep McDaniels or somebody good???

Because he doesn't want to call the signal, this is what we get. Please put the blame on BB.

It's a horse sh!t. I'm tired of excuses because they are only for losers. Do you know why????

How long has TB been in the league??? 7 or 8 years??? Did his leg injury prevent him from 'remembering' 3 delay game penaties too?????

We have heard that how hard TB was working. If he truly did it, we wouldn't have had 9 pts. Why did we see bad thrown all over the place?
    Am i right???

If TB did well in the Jets game, you would praise him for his hard work and work ethnics and all the BS. Am i right again???????

The main problem in this forum is your attitude. You drink too much BB kool aid and believe in "In BB we trust' BS for years. When somebody have different opinions, you call it crappy.

What did you think about yesterday game?? Is it crappy???

I call it as i see it. If i see crappy performance, i say it is because i'm NOT a fan who continues looking at the past accomplishment to keep me 'happy' when my team fails to deliver years after years.

Everyone seriously needs to relax. We lost by 7 points, there is no need to panic. The Jets are a decent football team, they are going to win a lot of games.

The defense was a concern going into the year and so far I think they have done their job. They've only allowed 17 and 16 points. If you said that before the season started you would have said we would had been 2-0. It is going to take time for the defense to click, we're young. Also, we were missing our defensive MVP and leader in Mayo. People need to realize that our defense has actually done a decent job and has kept us in games.

The offense is going to come around. Brady is coming back from a torn ACL, he isnt going to be the '07 Brady right away, look at Peyton Manning coming back from his knee injury. People were still questioning him 6 weeks into the season and he ends up by winning MVP. Just give TB time, he will come around. As of the O-line I thought they played a good game. Brady didnt get sacked once, they picked up the blitz pretty well and did their job. We really missed Welker yesterday, his quick slants across the middle would have been perfect against the blitz. Revis did an outstanding job on Moss and took him out of the game, but with that should have allowed Galloway to have one on one coverage and make plays and he didnt do that. He looks lost out there, and definitely is not on the same page as Brady. Look for Edelman to take over the #3 spot from Galloway by the bye week.

The last point that I have to make is the play calling. I thought it was a bit weak. We could have taken some chances down the field and allowed Moss to make a play against Revis or even Galloway. Also we didnt run any screens, the old Patriots were a big screen team, thats where Faulk makes plays. Screens would have been perfect against the blitz. We didnt mix anything up yesterday, we ran the same formation every play of the game except on the 3 and 1 and Taylor was stopped for a loss. We were too predictable.

Overall it is only week 2, and we are 1-1. No need to panic. We have a few corrections to make but they can be made. I still have faith in this team and so should everyone else.

Why didn't the Pats put any points on the board in the 3rd and 4th quarters? Because the offense played horribly yesterday. They were out of sync.. I thought we'd established that.

Nothing you've said has pointed to a lack of adjustments or even being slow to adjust. Adjustments don't help when the players don't execute. Like catching passes that hit you in the hands..

Different OC... And there were adjustments in that game. Since you clearly didn't watch the 2nd half, the defense failed to stop the Giants on several occasions. But that has absolutely nothing to do with now. Your mentioning it doesn't support anything.

Why don't you prove that they didn't make adjustments. Nothing you've offered up suggests that they didn't.

You claimed they were "out of touch." Out of touch means, not having communicated or not in communication. Being out of sync is something totally different. And what you fail to realize or don't understand is that a QBs rhythm can be thrown off by the defense.

Ahh.. The simplistic, unsupported view. Great to see that you can actually support your comments with fact. Lets forget that the first few runs by Maroney got extremely good positive yardage. Just like last week.. Lets forget that they are calling different running plays for Maroney than for Taylor. And lets forget that Maroney, himself, is coming back from a major shoulder injury, but seems to be running very well when the blocking is there. I mean, when you've got 3 guys in the backfield before you get the ball, its hard to get positive yardage..

They didn't change "5 guys in one day and expect 5 new guys to step in". That is just an imbecilic statement on your part. Only Burgess, Bodden and Springs are new. Green, Guyton, Wilhite, Mayo, have all been with the team for at least a year. Green has been with the team the longest and has played in Seymour's position before.

As for your statement about a "crappy present" you seriously need to go out and buy yourself a clue because going to the library and checking one out isn't helping you. The Patriots PRESENT is in transition. One that has the pieces to be excellent. You clearly can't understand that. Just because its not there RIGHT THIS SECOND doesn't mean its not happening. Things take time. Making unsupported statements and then trying to justify them with more unsupported statements just makes you look as foolish as the statements..

Yes, BB continues to put this team in a position to WIN if they execute the game plan (like not dropping passes). Lets review the changes:

    1) Harrison - Retired - The Pats have a good starter in Sanders and an good young player in Meriweather. Meriweather is in his 3rd year with the team. The biggest loss is leadership.

    2) Bruschi - Retired - Mayo is his replacement, though Mayo was playing SILB last year, Mayo was playing MLB this season. Mayo was extremely good last season and clearly had earned the respect of, not only Bruschi, but Belichick. He got injured. Guyton has taken over. Much the way Bruschi took over at MLB after Johnson and then Katzenmoyer went down. Guyton had a rough go of it, but hasn't been horrible by any stretch of the imagination

    3) Seymour - Traded - Replaced by Green. Green has done well against the run but hasn't gotten to the Passer much in the pass rush. At least against the Jets. Its questionable how much pressure Seymour would have gotten.

    4) Vrabel - Traded - Replaced by Burgess/Woods/Thomas. With the Switch to the 4-3, its hard to say how Vrabel was replaced. Burgess, right now, is playing just on passing downs as a DE. Thomas and Woods have been at the OLB, though the Pats have run their Nickel defense quite a bit. Including using McGowan in a "Big Nickel" system yesterday.

    5) Hobbs - Traded - Replaced by Bodden/Maroney. Bodden replaces Hobbs as the starting Corner. And Bodden has done very well. Maroney has replaced Hobbs as the kick returner. The blocking on special teams has left something to be desired.

So, out of all the changes only 2 (Vrabel and Hobbs) resulted in "NEW" players on the team. And one of those new players, Burgess, is seeing only limited time currently.

Do you remember how many changes to the defensive starters there were from 2000 to 2001? I think if you go and look you'll be surprised.

This all coming from the person who can't be bothered to actually support his claims with actual fact. Instead, you just say the equivalent of "Cause I said so." Guess what. You're say so don't mean a damn thing. You may "call it like you see it" but that doesn't mean you know a damn thing about what you are referring to.

What you are is someone who spews his opinion without any supporting fact and who exaggerates what actually happened. That doesn't make you a fan. It makes you a foolish person who needs to get a clue.

BTW, you can have all the different opinions you want. But we're entitled to OUR opinions on your crappy posts as well. That's the best part of the 1st Amendment and the part that clueless wonders like yourself always forget.

Are you freaking serious? We put up 9 points and that indicates to you that Brady hasn't worked hard?......I looked out my window this morning and it's apparent the world is flat too. Manning led the Colts to a 3 and 4 start last year then they won the last 9 in a row. I have a feeling there were some NEPatriot counterparts to you over on some Colt forums last year. When you come back from a very serious injury you don't usually carry on without skipping a beat or two. Brady's had a couple of sub-par games and you have him all but finished. Chances are you're going to be embarrased about this before the season is over.

This is a perfect example of you being clueless. BB didn't have a choice in keeping McDaniels. As for "adding somebody good," you do realize that BB has promoted from within for the coordinator positions since Weis and Crennel left, yes? O'Brien is in the same position that McDaniels was in 2005. The QB coach. The one calling the plays into Brady.

BTW, do you also realize that Weis and McDaniels were running BBs offense? Yes, that's right. You heard me correctly. Weis and McDaniels are running BB's OFFENSE. You should check out the Seth Wickersham article on it. It's a must read for any real Pats fan.

Why should we put the blame on BB for Moss, Galloway and others not executing the offense properly? BB can make them go through the reps all he wants, but if they don't perform on the field, they are the ones who have to shoulder the responsibility.

Losers like you are the ones who think that FACTS are excuses.

You clearly are someone who is clueless and has NEVER played sports or had an injury in your life. Especially if you think that an injury like what Brady had doesn't affect you or your ability to play the game. Now, regarding the Delay of game penalties. The back to back ones were questionable. Why? Because 24 seconds didn't pass from the first to the second. I timed it off my DVR. Brady had a legit gripe on that one.

No. You aren't right. What you are ignoring is the fact that there are 11 players on offense and they each contribute to the play. As for why we saw some bad throws, its called pressure from the defense. Unlike you, some of us can admit that the other team played a good game.

If Brady and the Pats had done well and the defense had failed, then yes, we'd be praising him. People are saying that the entire offense didn't execute yesterday. They aren't making up some BS like you did that they were "out of touch" with one another.

Brady and the offense had a bad game. He's still acclimating to what his body can do. You'd realize that if you had any sense about what the type of injury he had does to your psyche.
